Novogrod wasn't "occupied" by anyone.
And Rusyn citizens of Lithuania were still called Rusyns, practiced Orthodoxy and had exactly the same rights as the other nobles of the Commonwealth. In fact, they had much more rights than under dictatorship rule of Muscovian tsar.
