Perhaps when you live in a fuckhuge country it's not an issue, but building new houses is a big debate in our country since it makes our green spaces less and less.
I'm someone who takes a lot of joy in nature and a massive population is antithetical to that. I believe we're already overpopulated as is.

what's worse than lowering native workers wages, is when they just take the jobs completely, and the natives go on welfare. There used to be a lot of black owned and/or operated car washes in LA county. now they're all run by illegal immigrants. the blacks didn't get better paying jobs, they just became inter-generational welfare dependents.

Doesn't matter. Low skilled immigration has overwhelming benefits for the the average native-born person. Low skilled immigration lowers the price of goods and services for consumers and raises wages for the average native-born person. If you're concerned about low-skilled native-born workers, you're still better of allowing immigration and then transferring some of the gains from the winners to the losers.

i'd rather pay $20 for a black to wash my car, and not be on welfare; than pay $10 for an illegal latino to do it + $5 tax to the black on welfare.

I may be saving money with the latino, but the cost to the nation to have so many people on welfare is not only a financial cost, it's also a big social cost, that is felt by our culture, and majorly influences our political system.

If the GDP per capita rises if you have more people in your country, it's a net benefit for the wealth of the country because immigrants then contribute more to the GDP than the average citizens.

that's not what is happening in the US. the only job that we actually need foreigners to do is agricultural stoop-labor. all the other jobs that, supposedly, "americans wont do" (cleaner, landscaping, construction worker) are actually primarily done by US citizens.

illegals compete with our working-class directly. some of them get educated and become middle class. most of them either accept lower wages (stagnant wages + inflation = lower wages); and a lot of them become unemployed.

- A federal program called E-Verify allows employers to check the immigration status of potential employees.
- As far as I know, all states require car insurance or proof that you're wealthy enough to pay potential liabilities
- A federal minimum wage exists

Why do we have to house everyone?
