How is the EU different than the Soviet Union?

I get most of my news from Breitbart and it has told me that the EU and USSR are pretty much the same thing. How are they different?

>I get most of my news from Breitbart
cringe

bad bait

EU is good for our interests, USSR is not.

redistributes the wealth from most EU countries to poland

Both are hugely left leaning
Both are oppressing places trying to leave the Union
Both have forced tolerance

How are they different?

both have a significant muslim population and are full of leftists

just like the US

Except we have a lot of guns and no way the government can oppress us, unlike you

Muslims here are scared of getting shot

ok

nice bait

alright I'll bite
open borders, freedom to start a business and trade with other countries, no state-controlled media, embracing of regional/local cultures and identity (despite what your media tells you by focusing on the urban dwelling isreal-sponsored politicians trying to fill our cities with immigrants, the EU puts a lot of money into protecting regional dialects, restoring cultural heritage sites, and promoting the diverse local cultures which the USSR did not) no censorship based off of opinions or ideas in a post (ok article 13 or 17 or whatever number we're at now is kinda dumb, but it's intention is not to limit freedom of speech, even though some of the retarded leftists that helped get it pushed do like it for that reason, even then, other parts of EU law actually make it hard for it to be implemented), the list goes on and on...

>How is the EU different than the Soviet Union?
what the fuck
EU was for good interests and free trade in the start, now it ironically turned into some wierd european protectionism with too many burocrats

well, if you did not chimp out we could be partners, my fellow ally

>get imprisoned for smoking weed
>free

you can leave one

Yeah let’s ask Britain how Brexit is going. Brexit should be widely supported as a democratic revolution overthrowing the yolk of EU tyranny. We need to arm them and fund similar independence movements in the rest of Europe even if it means millions will die

It’s better to die on your feet than live life on your knees

USSR was based, EU is cringe

How are they similar?

Retarded goals that retards need fullfil.

Union of many nations
Left leaning
Anti free market
Lack of freedom of speech
Forcible brotherhood
Lack of individualism

>Both are hugely left leaning
Left leaning? It's a liberal project with a focus on free trade and free movement of labour and whatnot. Also, what about EPP? They've been running the show for a long time now and still are. You don't seem to know what you're talking about.
>Both are oppressing places trying to leave the Union
Who is the EU oppressing? Countries are free to leave, as UK decided to do.
>Both have forced tolerance
... What?

>it’s a liberal project

Exactly. Thank you

>I get most of my news from Breitbart
Then don't, they're retarded.
>How are they different?
You disobey the EU, you get a meaningless reprimand and not much else.
You disobey the USSR, russian tanks arrive at your house the next day.

>people actually fell for this
>even though the post literally opens with "I get most of my news from Breitbart and it has told me that"

>no way the government can oppress us
The government is oppressing you right now and you're doing jack shit about it. Better yet, any opposition to the government, the establishment, the ruling class and so on is labeled as evil, unpatriotic and whatnot.

this tbqh

You'd be right, however
>burger flag
you never know.

The population here is armed and deadly and most have military like training

They know better than to trigger a civilian uprising. The government here is scared of the citizens, not the other way around.

See them try to take our guns. People in Europe willingly give them up. People here wouldn’t. They’d rather die than give up their guns

>Left leaning
How is the EU left leaning? Homie, do you know what the EU was before it became the EU? Do you know who has been ruling the EU for a long time?
>Anti free market
The EU has been all about trying to remove restrictions on trade though. It's not laissez faire but they've made trade and markets more free, not less.
>Lack of freedom of speech
>Forcible brotherhood
>Lack of individualism
These just seem bizarre. How does EU have a "lack of individualism"?
Why don't Americans know what liberalism means?
>Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed, and equality before the law. Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but they generally support limited government, individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), capitalism (free markets), democracy, secularism, gender equality, racial equality, internationalism, freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion.
Sometimes it's just fun to argue.

It honestly seems like guns are the way to keep Americans passive about the actual oppression those guns are meant to fight.
