yes, then I've reverted to Debian, Fedora and Sabayon

nah I run Ubuntu

-Does using Gentoo actually make your computer run any faster? Does configuring a minimal kernel and compiling all your packages with optimization flags make a big difference? Woulnd't a binary distribution just keep a repository of binary files depending on your architecture?

Nope, but I used to use KDE neon

>run any faster
only overclocking makes it "run faster". what do you mean?

yeah but only as an experiment
I don't give a shit about distro I run on my computer these days as long as it doesn't make you go balls deep into it to get it working
currently on openSUSE Tumbleweed just because I already had an usb stick with it and I was too lazy to flash something else

For almost anyone who'd install Gentoo, the answer is no. It's all placebo.

no, I use debian like any sane person would

For me, as a Linux Power User, it’s Arch Linux

No, I use Ubuntu

as any sane lesbian would*

Not if you can waste less time on context switches

haven't tried it, but it's been in the back of my mind

not really
>Woulnd't a binary distribution simply keep a repository of binary files depending on your architecture?
binary distros already have repositories for specific architectures like x86-64, 32-bit x86 and arm*
what they don't have is packages optimized for your specific cpu model (you can do this on gentoo)

bump

It seems difficult to use Linux.....

Arch and wsl

who /clang+musl+libressl/ here?

it really isn't these days
I'd argue it's even easier to use than Windows if you just use your computer for regular everyday shit
just download Ubuntu or Mint, press Next a few times, wait 10 minutes and you can get to work
no ads, no telemetry, no forced updates, no microshit bloat

not if you use a proper distro
Ubuntu and Mint are easy as fuck and have lots of documentation
