BRÖÖT :DD

There is nothing "beautiful" about animal abuse.

Hope you like your meat?

Elephants are domesticated in India. Sure, there is abuse, but if you see how some of the temple elephants are treated, you will withdraw your opinion. But i get where you're coming from, sure.

Cool. We decorate our cows for pemtecost

what's the backstory here?

Latin Americans have such familiar faces

She was born around 1890 in an unnamed nearby island
Once she grew older the moved in the island of Ro(Megisti).
She saw 2 world wars and actively helped the allies and especially our sacred hand during the second one
She was known for her part in the resistance during the occupation of greece.
Once the war was over and for the last 40 years of her life the first thing she did in the morning was to raise the Greek flag and the last thing on the evening was to lower it
Some of her words were "Being that far away from your kin(Greeks) your duty to preserve what has been given to you becomes even greater"
Our fighter pilots loved her and regularly flew over her island as a way to say "You are not alone out here".
After her death in 1982 a small military group was stationed on her island and continues to raise the flag every day thus continuing what this great woman started

Is this a historically documented thing or folk legend?

It's historically documented
And here is her grave

Ah, yes Boxhill.... One time i had to spend 12 minutes with a schizophrenic old Balkanite and a fat soy boy with a beard in a shitty bus stop. The fat guy kept making eye contact with me for assurance as soon as the old man started screaming in some forgotten European language.

Comfy. And now I understand what Midsummer means.

We have a annual pyre burning festival, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. It's a day before the colour throwing festival called Holi.

These are nice.

This looks horrible.

It's not a village but a city with 120k population and state capital that is located in a 70km long ricefield plot that produces enough food for 20million.
