I cant go back to work tomorrow. somebody help me
Have you considered what achievements are possible at work?
Where do you work? What do you do?
And by achievements I mean, like, literally not doing anything work related for an entire day (without getting fired) or managing to sleep your way through the entire office.
>what achievements are possible at work?
Making Mr. Silverstein and his kids more money
>What do you do?
I'm a programmer/developer
does anyone else have a female boss that is super condescending, and talks down to you like you are an idiot or a child? how do you deal with this
I know that feel bro. All I need is between 200k to a mil and I'd be able to humbly and comfortably live off the interest alone. I believe it will happen eventually just need a solid method to get myself there.
Call in JUSTED
i really dont think 200k is enough to live off the interest is it?
Just man up and put that bitch in her place. She'll respect you more. Even on a subconscious level she'll find you more fuckable if you have a backbone. Being a pushover just makes you an unattractive little worm despite whatever feminist theory is teaching you guys these days.
Then think things like
Job Security: Obfuscate your codebase so badly no one can ever take over maintaining it.
I'll Get Around To It: Delay a user-reported bug's one liner fix for over three months.
Code's Compiling: Route around your workplace's internet filter and shitpost on Jow Forums for an entire day.
You Know We Can See What You Do, Right?: Blackmail someone based on their at-work internet traffic.
You can probably come up with way better ones.
vaguely threaten that competitors are giving you better offers
You're talking about things to make my job "better". I just don't want to be somewhere I don't want to be for 40-50 hours a week, 50 weeks a year, for the next 40-50 fucking years of my life.
I believe that's Leverage Your Leverage: Use a new job offer to negotiate a higher salary, then use your higher salary to negotiate a higher salary at the new job.
Just save more, bro mrmoneymustache.com
how much cash do you need to retire in a decent SEA country (not luxurious, just not in a dangerous place and with decent internet)?
you probably make a lot of money, dont you
>i cant go back to work tomorrow. somebody help me
I know. I'm promised myself an hero when my kids turn 21 and after my dog dies I'd say nearly five years to go
At 1% interest compounded monthly that's 2000 per month, easily covers my current expenses. It would be a humble life yes but doable. Pair that with a part time (or full time) job in a low stress low skill field that you actually enjoyed instead of working because you had to and you'd easily be set if you're careful. In theory, anyways
>50 weeks a year, for the next 40-50 fucking years of my life.
I started working at 16. I'm 46 and a cash machine for a family who don't give a fuck about me. I'm not even sure they know fathers are human. I've started planning my will since it might be contested f I make it to near my death. I'm leaving everything to galleries and art museums quietly starting 24 months beforehand. All these anons thinking that a couple of hundred grand or even a million can be lived off forgot about tax and minimum retirement age. I'd rather be dead than keep having to earn for another 20 years.
How much do you think is enough to live off of for the young people here?
I have a female supervisor at the office. Very annoying woman that basically wants me to talk with her amd entertain her but if I were to say something that she is against she looks like she'll get upset/mad. She doesn't want a friend she wants a robot slave. Worst part is, it's evident she isn't as smart as me lol another lady who is in a way her superior is questioning her intelligence as well haha. Forgets some of the simpliest work things and how to do them and guess who has to help her, me usually. Takes advantage of my hard work ethic, she pisses me off big time. There's only 2 other people therw that really agitate me, one of them is quitting soon and the other is likely being moved to another location. Literally only leaving one annoyimg as fuck employee, my supervisor.
My plan is to find a new job or get into a position where she has no authority over me. Have an interview this Friday, for a position within the organization I'm no longer interested in pursuing a career in. Not sure whether to go or not mostly because of this annoying supervisor. If it hadn't been for her I'd skip.
I'm not that interested and the pay is only about 0.50 more an hour. HOWEVER the drive will likely be 40 minutes to an hour versus my current drive of 10 to 15 minutes.
It's impossible. I made a million by the time I was 30. That would be a lot more now. Taxman comes. Takes his chunk. Then house. Property tax, if you have kids you have to have health insurance. You have to pay income and social taxes. There is no escape. All I have seen is more new taxes my whole life. I don't want to dox myself but I gave it a good run. You need a million just to fucking retire when you are nearly dead already. Its rigged. You can't escape. Maybe a few hundred in a billion get such incredible odds they do but that just a bit of decoration to tease you with the possibility. You'd need to make 15 million at least. 7.5 goes in income taxes, capital gains, over your lifetime more in health insurance, property tax, whatever tax more capital gains, more income tax, more social tax etc etc Then you nee a million to retire. You can't escape its rigged.
no one likes what they have to do to earn to pay tax. otherwise you would do it for free
lets say you are what 25, you will probably be cursed with a legal retirement age of 70, that mean you will have to earn for 45 years. If you commute that means lets say 80 minutes a day, let's say four weeks off a year plus weekends you're going to spend nearly two years commuting alone. Someone check my math, I'm tired.
Recommendation. Start working rom home.
And the money you earn to pay to travel to work, is taxed. Ah. Wonderful and then there is sales tax on fuel, car or whatever.
Of course you are only really awake for lets say 12 fully active hours so in reality you have spent nearly four (not two) of those 45 years just driving to work. Nice. Nice way to spend your life user
Job won't be for more than 2 years at most as it's way too low wage and I've had opportunities for $20 an hour, 7ish dollars more.
THERE IS NO ESCAPE.
>Job won't be for more than 2 years at most as it's way too low wage and I've had opportunities for $20 an hour, 7ish dollars more.
You don't get it. As your earnings rise your taxes rise and if you have a home or a family or a car (unless you want to live as a cold miserable tramp in your late 30s) it does not matter how much you make per hour. There is no possibility of you stopping work for more that a handful of years and if you do, you will be back to square one again.
Anyway see you all in heaven I hope (sooner or later).
Be a team player, user.
>most
What country are you in? What about the whole mentality of financial independence I've seen on Reddit?
>What about the whole mentality of financial independence I've seen on Reddit?
Yeah. Let's see how that turns out for them.
One other think, I've know a lot of people who hid very well and have up to 30-200 million in assets and drive flash cards. They all owe pretty much every single penny in tax and loans and live in perpetual fear. No one escapes
>Making Mr. Silverstein and his kids more money
he probably owes the lot including your chair to a bank
Going off some cost of living indices, it's maybe 40% cheaper than my own expenses? That'd be like $15,000/year, which, at a 3-3.5% withdrawal rate means you can support it, inflation adjusted, indefinitely, never earning any other income, with a $425k-$500k portfolio.
So is the only chance we have is trying to make it big as a celebrity or some shit?
U.S.
Let's be real most of those people are unlikely to achieve that dream unless they move to some 3rd world country or they'll get to retire 3 years sooner with all that long term planning versus themselves not planning it so intently.
I'd certainly like to retire by 40, 50 flat at the latest but that is unlikely. I have no interest in moving to most countries besides some European ones, Russia, maybe Greenland, and maybe a few in Asia.
Woah that actually sounds reasonably attainable.
This captcha loads too slow!!!
same situation here
a million is lots of money for one person but you think you're special and had to pass on your bloodline or whatever. you made your bed
>I'm 46 and a cash machine for a family who don't give a fuck about me. I'm not even sure they know fathers are human
Sorry to hear this user. As someone who really wants to be a father, my number three priority right now, this is troubling to hear. Are your kids on their phones all the time?
I hope you have a way to unwinding with for yourself or the family, family movie night, fishing, hunting, friends, riding one of those Honda UTVs, etc.
Also in regard to this post. It sounds like you're in California, no? Do not despair, I'm hopeful that people will realize this disgusting system we have and we'll get someone who has the goal of ending the debt society we've created and focuses on replenishing the spirit of the people. Like Hitler did in reaction to the Weimar Republic.
youtube.com
Let it lift your spirits up, user. I pray to Jesus one day the state will serve the people again.
No fucking way. I have a house... It's not anything special but it's mine. I'm 30, I can easily be ok with 2000 a month. Is this serious? No fucking way.
>christian natsoc
absolutely purple pilled
Remember faggot, 2 million after tax. That's all you need.
>200k-300k on a nice condo in a good part of town
>30k on a nice brand new Jeep
>20k on other stuff you want to buy (clothes, furniture, Vidya)
>50k on charity
>200k savings (this can be allocated to any debt you've incurred, which should be taken care of immediately)
>300k retirement
>100k checking
>1 million invested at 7% (4 for cash, 3 for tax) annually for 40k a year as F.U money and to cover expenses
>Part time job in low stress low skill field (mall retail or some shit) to cover bordeom and to make friends (and some spare pocket change for whenever the new Vidya comes out)
>Part time classes at the local community college (woodshop, electrical engineering, auto repair, English, math, etc) to keep your mind sharp as well as making friends and bettering yourself.
>No drugs(alcohol included)
>Go to church (unironically)
You're fucking set.
You're home is paid off. You car is paid off. You have 0 fucking debt. You pay for everything debit because you don't use anyone elses money because you don't need it. You credit card is hidden in a secret pocket in your wallet because you never use it. You only go to work because you've decided to and not out of necessity. You back in the fruits of your labor yet you never become antiquated or inefficient.
You live a cozy life.
>buying a Jeep instead of drugs
good advice otherwise but this is bad
>Two million dollars.
A shitty ex-council house in a bad part of a crap town costs nearly a million dollars here.
better not have kids or a girlfriend. might be fun being alone for a decade or so but it'll get real lonely towards the later years.
Idk which one of you this is but you’ve been making threads about this for months describing the EXACT same details over and over and over again. Starting to think you’re the deranged one here. It’s not healthy to obsess over people like this. Seek help.
