What happens if you quit a job without giving a two week notice?

Depends on the job

You get arrested

Saves a very awkward time I literally do it all the time

You only give a 2 weeks notice if you need references at the job, other than that I see no reason why you would need a 2 weeks notice.

Maybe a bad reference. That's about it

Just sent an anonymous tip to the fbi. They'll probably be at your home in an hour. Scum like you disgust me.

They don't buy out your vacation time.

Waste of money unless you use it all up first.

What do you mean what happens? 2 weeks is a courtesy. They can fire you at any time, and you can quit at any time.....it's an at will arrangement user. You though they'd put you in jail or something?

literally nothing, your boss is just less likely to give you a reference

You're violating company policy and directly harming the company on purpose by leaving. You probably don't realize this, but before you were officially hired you signed some paperwork under federal law that requires you to give two weeks notice before quitting. They probably already have a warrant for your arrest now, you might as well turn yourself in

That's illegal. Accrued vacation days count as income and they're legally obligated to pay you it when you quit a job.

Goes on your permanent record op

good luck ever getting another job again shithead

this too. A lot of people don't realize that this goes on your criminal record. It's considered a minor offense committed with intent to knowingly harm the company through criminal negligence. So if any future employer does a background check, they will find this

slave mentality is so confusing

Not if you don't give notice, be aware of the law

You don't have to work at the job for another two weeks

They're still required to pay you for the hours you have worked. The only catch is that you're going to have a fucking awkward or angry call with your boss when telling them "I'm done lmao" with no notice. Also, unless you start a job the next day, you've got no income.

What shit country do you live in where workplace laws don't mandate minimum notice periods?

Almost all jobs are "at will", meaning you can quit or be fired at any time without any warning.

The job police arrest you and make you go back

...

Do companies fire people with a 2 weeks notice? Fuck them, who cares.

If it’s a wagecuck tier job like flipping burgers or retail just walk off the job because you can get rehired at any of those types of places. If it’s manual labor, construction, or any place with a union you want to at least give a two weeks so you can have good references and to fall back on in case you need to be rehired that can get you healthcare and dental benifits just in case. If you’re in a good office position or are pretty important at a company give them at least a month so they can fill your position with someone from the lower ranks as you’re phased out, you want really good words and references from these places.

What cucked country do you live in that allows the state to mandate the employment arrangement of two private parties?

Any first world country and most outside of that

The company can't call the police and have them drag you to work, that's called slavery.

They won't say good things at when listed as previous employment. Make sure your contacts are other people who already left.

they will give you a terrible recommendation when your next job asks them about you

you screw them over and it doesn't really matter but you should feel bad for it unless they were a horrible company to work for in which case you should feel good for it

If you give 2 weeks notice, most companies will just fire you, because you're just gonna fuck off until you're done. Depends on the company and the situation though.

Yes very epic my anarcho-capitalist friend

You have misinterpreted my statement. If fired, an employer will either pay you two weeks or give you that much notice. If you quit, you can either accept one of the above from the employer or leave immediately if he wants you to work. You can freely leave if he wants you to work, but you sacrifice any accrued leave as a penalty.

Rights and duties of both parties, at least in civilized countries.

>You're fired
>You have two weeks of pay coming for while you're not here though
What the fuck?

Yes, imagine a world where the government actually enacts workplace law

>perfectly acceptable for a company to fire or lay employees off without any notice
>not acceptable for employees to quit without notice

If you don't give a notice, you run the chance of them saying you aren't eligible for re-hire if future employers call to verify employment history. That's where you get screwed.

nothing really but giving a two weeks is just a respect thing, and normally you can get rehired if you want to in the future.

however if it’s really shitty and your treated like dirt then it’s better to just quit imho

What the heck is going on in the rest of the world? In Australia the same notice period will apply to the worker as the employer, period length will depend on contract.

Which country's laws are you describing?

USA.

There's no law requiring employers to give you any kind of notice before terminating you. If you are lucky and work for a decent employer they will give you some sort of severance package if you are laid off, but they are not obligated to.

The whole bad reference thing is a meme too. Legally they can't slander you. Instead they use will ask past employers if you are eligible to work again for them. If they say no, it's HR code for you were an unsatisfactory employee.

Enjoy your freedom

You just go home.
They can figure it out by themself.

Exactly this. I'm an electronics engineer. I'm about to rage quit my job tomorrow. No fucking way I'm going to tell them i quit and then keep coming in for two weeks. I've seen them lay off multiple people with no notice at all so fuck em

t-thanks

Attached: 2f7.jpg (200x169, 7K)

I would quit but my boss wont let me

I've done it twice. Nothing happened

When i was 16 i took a shit in isle 15 at meijers and walked off.

When i was 18 i removed a cealing tile from the menards bathroom, took a shit on it and put it backup.

When i was 18 i deep fried my headset at white castle.

When i was 22 i told doug to fuck off im not cleaning that literal 3inches of shit in a forclosed apartment

Anddddd i think thats most of my rebel youth moments

Nothing happens but you really can't use them on your resume now.

Lmao, sounds like you had more balls than me. I think the worst thing I did was when I was 19 and about to go to college and I was gonna walk off the job soon. Since it was past 4th of July, I grabbed an m80, lit the fuse, and tossed it in the dishwasher. I pretended I had no idea and the dishwasher just went kaput. Lingered around for a while and they had to start using the three compartment to wash every dish. I left when they tried to draft me for it lol

Life happens.

That's a lot of shitting, sounds pajeety

They'll they your mom nigga

You get put on a National blacklist.

what exactly did you rebel against? Being a normal, decent human being? Not being trash?

Do you think you're a good person?

it goes on your permanent record.

No serious responses in this thread

In most cases you are breaking your contract which means that the company can >by law hold you responsible for any losses made during this time and they could technically take you to court and recoup those losses. I’ve never seen this happen

no idea as im not a wageslave

>no serious responses
moron
