You need to come to come to terms with your mother, she may have had a troubled upbringing or demons of her own that she projected onto you (unfortunately).

Trust me, be forgiving and lead by example, don't resent her, I promise it will manifest negatively in your future in some way if you don't resolve it sooner rather than later, don't go looking for apology, she will understand eventually, even if it takes years. Ok you can still make it. My biggest regret was not doing as many internships as possible so make sure you do at least one otherwise job interviews will be hell. Also consider doing a masters in something else like data or compsci or whatever you think is interesting if you don't get cambridge. My course was integrated so I didn't do this and it's another regret. Good luck anyway.
