Is it a good idea to keep important documents, ledger wallet, family photographs...

Is it a good idea to keep important documents, ledger wallet, family photographs, etc in a very sturdy gun safe that weighs over 2000 lbs and anchored to the foundation? I want to do this primarily for the fireproofing aspect but I'm concerned that IF a burglar cuts the safe open he may just take all the stuff (worthless to him) thinking there's value in it, or perhaps even cart out the entire safe.

In other words, if a burglar cracked a safe and found a stack of paper next to guns and cash, you think he'd just leave the paper alone and just take the guns and cash?

fuck no, if i was robbing someone and they left a usb or paper in there i'd take that first. it's small and easy to pocket.

But we're talking about window smashing burglars here, not hackers on steroids.

Safes are stupid. Its the first place a thief looks.

Ledger for one is stupid cause it cant be opened without knowing ur number lock. Why bring attention to it?

Guns etc may be.....

When you're dealing with a safe of that size no burglar is going to be able to steal it unless they dedicate a whole day to stealing it and have tools to specifically get into it. If you're worried about that make sure no one knows about the safe.

a window smashing burglar is not going to have the fucking tools on hand to crack a 2000lb safe. someone who is going to break into a 2000lb safe is going to come prepared and has a specific target.

Window smashers don't have the skill-set to waste time on a ground floor safe.

that’s not what they do, dumbass. they just head to the garage, take your angle grinder and cut your safe in two in a matter of minutes.

I highly doubt somebody is going to bring safe crackling tools into your house. Unless it's an inside job. Just don't tell any friends or family about it.

well then easy solution retard, don't fucking have an angle grinder.

A GOOD safe is a investment, period.

You spend 20k on a fort knox safe because you know it's going to take days to break into, even if they brought a fucking plasma torch. It's still going to be a huge bitch with cut proof walls lined with bearings and heat obsorbing metal. You truly need to have someone take the right tools time and experience to crack one. I have a friend at my work who knocks safes for fun, then rebuilds and sells them... he's got a entrie arsenal of tools. Sometimes it still takes days. He says get a safe made before 1920s and upgrade the roll pin lock and ur golden .. or drop 20k on a fort Knox and have your own bank level safe

Also. Insurance and camera / security system.

do you even own property, wealthlet?

yeah and in all likelihood worth more then yours. and i don't have an angle grinder. and if you are that worried about your possessions in a 2000lb safe, i think any reasonable person can forgo an angle grinder to protect there possessions worthwhile enough to have a 2000 fucking pound safe to protect.

Kid. Your retarted. Don't speak on what you don't know.

my last property, go home wealthlet.

Hello chink

I would, I wouldn't worry about burgulars..
Firstly, they probably never anticipated a safe. Now they have to find a way into it, and quite honestly they arent getting in unless they have a badass drill which they don't.
Also if you have a dog or you so happen to be home when they break in, you just shoot them... at least in a merica'.

>>not an argument

and as a relevant point, i don't give a fuck if they drive up the price of real estate, it's more money in my pocket.

My apologies schlomo

Your seriosly a child... and a terrible larper. Like, posting that link i could find out who you are in 20 minutes. Anyone with their right mind wouldnt do that.

Therefore your a larper and a child.

>house literally is worth less then what i have in btc.

And this is my newest house.

I have like 20 others

In your estimation, how long would it take a thief to break into this?

I'm not trying to stop Garrettt from breaking into the safe, just one that 99% of thieves would look at and nope.jpg and go for the low hanging fruit.

will you kill yourself too if i can prove it? say yes please.

by the way, i said it was my last property, not my current.

Prove it you autist

The chances of you getting burgled are very low to begin with, lower if you have decent security + a dog.

If someone gets past all that and gets to a safe, which will most likely be behind a locked door as well, chances are they are not going to be equipped to deal with a safe.

Please let me know how many blades you go through with a grinder through 2-3 inches of solid steel.

say the magic words. i just stripped the image of meta data.

Please.

That's good steel, you'd be there for hours with a grinding wheel. In the 50s British gangsters would blow the hinges with some type of jelly explosive they learnt to make during the war. They'd detonate it with wires from the light in the room whilst standing in the other room flicking the switch.

Galium might work but you'd beed a crapload and it would be very very slow with a safe that thick.

The best approach is to bury in on an island and mark the location with an X

I really want to one day build a house with a high end safe built into the foundation. The door is generally the strongest side of a safe, so I figure pour 18 inches of concrete on the other sides and call it a day. Maybe stick a bookshelf or entertainment center in front of the door to the safe room too, for maximum prepper meme dream.

what is public data? sale of homes/land.

Digitize your documents broski

Robbers tend to take all the IDs, documents, estate papers, insurances etc.
It is not worthless to them, as they know you'll gladly pay top $ to return all that was stolen. Sure, you can recreate most of those papers, but that would take you an eternity.
