If you buy periodically, regardless of market conditions, you take out the timing component. If you try to time the market, you're not investing anymore. In the past 12 months alone I've bought very close to both a bottom and a top
didnt comfy buy puts on wallmart based on his robintrack strategy?

Why do people even "invest" in companies that don't pay a dividend? It's literally the definition of Greater Fool's Theory, where you expect someone else to take those bags off you, at a higher price, at a later date.
You may "own" a slice of said company, but you reap no rewards from its operations. Heck you aren't even entitled to its assets if it folds.
Christian Wood
because they expect that that company will pay dividends (or do buybacks) eventually next question please
Aaron Perez
Um acktually sweaty, I made 39% gainz. I could buy a nice meal at Mcdonalds with those gains
Read more psychology/game theory. Or let me sum up everything you need to know. There's a sucker born every minute and things are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. I don't need 10 people to buy my shares I just need one.

>37 million in stolen parts cover-up >batteries for damaged VINs in car fires >DEA informed of drug ring at gigafactory not disclosed to shareholders >stock isn't fucking moving Hahahahahahahahahaha this can't be real life. What the fuck is going on anymore

Isaiah Rogers
I don't own any gold stocks or gold at all for that matter. Thanks for the insightful post though.
Grayson Morales
Yes but for qualified dividends it's not that highly taxed, and also I dont want to be buying and selling and timing in my 60s and 70s lol. Id rather just get the passive income Ive accumulated of the years
Dominic Cruz
>user, we can either pay you a dividend of $5 per share, or we can use that money to grow our profits (and thus dividends) by 10% in perpetuity. Shareholders basically get to choose this option every year and especially in the case of growth stocks, you'd be a fool not to choose the option to skip the dividend.

The parasitic subroutines are too deply ingrained for that. The survival engine refuses to be uprooted.

uhoh price action on SPY very unhealthy someone desperately manipulating price above 284.3
me white blood cells are murder bastards ;_; poor platelet am scared come out of hiding if you keep trying and not lose all money first, it will happy !!!!
it actually hillay, first thing was gonna do with some of margin money was buy WMT, but it literally mooned exactly today kek
But there's a couple of problems with that. Firstly its not always possible to grow your sales by re-investing your profits. Secondly more sales doesn't necessarily lead to greater profits. Thirdly even the share price "grows" to effectively price in the future cash flow, and (in the absence of market hype) effectively cancels out the benefit of greater future cash flow.
So the only logical conclusion left is back to what he said , you are hoping some idiot will fall for the hype and buy your bags.
Landon Campbell
I've always wondered how much it costs to move the SPY up 1 point

>my chart look wrong, therefore there is an insidious conspiracy manipulating the market I'm sure the Fed daytrades SPY just to throw off retarded chart-squinting autists.
>Firstly its not always possible to grow your sales by re-investing your profits. If the company is at that stage, it's no longer a growth stock and it should start paying dividends.
>Thirdly even the share price "grows" to effectively price in the future cash flow, and (in the absence of market hype) effectively cancels out the benefit of greater future cash flow. If you pay a dividend, the stock price drops to reflect the cash outflow, thereby cancelling out the income you're getting. What you're not understanding is that investors get to (basically) choose between dividends and re-investing profits every year. When forgoing dividend, the stock price goes up and this happens every year.
James Fisher
so $1 trillion. who is manipulating the SPY then? no one alive has access to that kind of money

Something I'm curious about for any of the intraday traders out there. On average after the opening drive when things have settled a little, on a long position do you guys typically try to enter on the bids, the offer, or somewhere in between? I have a tendency to try to enter on the bids, but obviously miss more moves this way than I would like and get put into the situation of having to chase. Wondering if that's a pretty bad practice on my part and in the long run I'd be better off trying to skip ahead of the bid or just nail the offer like in faster markets.
They are very nice bags though. Women pay a lot for a nice bag dontcha know. The best bags, the bigglyest. You need to stop thinking of them as bags and think if them as currency. Each company is a little or not so little soverign nation that issues it's own coin. These coins are functional worthless except the implied value blah blah blah fiat currency. However the value of all currency is in a constant state of flux and we as investors/traders are looking to maximize the amount of coins we can hold. As ultimately we seek to transfer Stock to USD. Like I said in a past thread I could buy and sell Funko Pop figures for a profit, these are bags. They don't do anything, the demand is illogical, it doesn't generate value by itself and they are frankly overvalued. But that's ok cause I can get ten sheckles for it which I can use to buy a stock which I can turn into more USD which I can turn into more stocks. The value of money is a shared social illusion in the attempt to assign value to objects and effort.

because a company who gives their shareholders dividends rather than reinvesting them back in the business will do worse in the long run, they actually give up a competitive edge

shouldnt it go up if people are manipulating it to go up?
Not a trader (long-term investor), but I always go slightly below the current bid. A small down-tick and my order goes through. I don't like paying current ask as it feels like overpaying.
Jordan Campbell
Paper trade?
