I have sympathy for you, my dad was obese since his childhood. This didn't block him from having a beautiful family and a great career, being really brilliant. His being a big bearded man made him also look likeable, like a good giant.
Though, he died at 46 when I was 8yo from a heart attack, I rarely tell people irl, I saw him falling on the ground, hand on his chest, while we were all together in the kitchen on a Sunday.

Unironically just cut your carb intake. I went from 220 lbs all the way down to 150 lbs just by doing that. Zero carb will get you faster results. But just stick to meat, dairy if you want it, and low carb fruits/veg.

It's not possible to get certain nutrients such as b12 or DHA from plants. And also plants contain anti-nutrients such as phytic acid and other stuff which inhibits nutrient absorption so it's not like you'll be getting much out of them.
Nutrients from animal products are more bio-available though, a lot more bio-available than from plants. RDAs are a meme.

Keto and low carb are not the same thing. Low carb is what worked for me. Excessive sugar/carbs make you fat. And actually the standard American diet is high in carbs so most Americans are not even following keto.
