PASSIVE INCOME THREAD - Where's the guy who has a bunch of ATMs and a parking lot?

I want to get some advice on ATM and vending machines from people who are doing it.
Whats a reasonable RIO to expect?
How much capital do you need to get started for machines, insurance, etc.?
Let's get a good discussion going

Nothing? Nobody wants to take a break from posting shitcoin memes to talk about actual real world investments?

I've wanted to get into vending/atm/coin ops, so your thread appeals to me, but I will be able to contribute absolutely nothing.

so, buy bitcoin

This sorry op

Of course I want to have something were people use my infrastructure and I just have to maintain it.
Once such things are set-up, it's sem passive income.
Currently in the making for something like that but can't say it now.
Also hitting the bed now, cya!

During the gold rush, those selling the shovels got rich, not the miners ;)

ATM Owner here.
NEVER buy GenMega. Hyosung master race.
Put them in cash businesses, like:
>clubs
>laundromats
>liquor stores
>marijuana dispensaries
>food courts
>anywhere with live music
>Gas Stations
>Convenience Stores
>Apartment complexes with a central lobby(ie towers)
Let me know if you've got anything else user.

>During the gold rush, those selling the shovels got rich, not the miners ;)
Yeah yeah this reasoning is what led me to not buy eth when it was a dollar.
>Yep obviously smart contracts are going to be big, but only a great fool would do something as obvious as buying the actual currency involved. No, I need to find a way to profit from the overall process.

>During the gold rush, those selling the shovels got rich, not the miners ;)
Stay out of my crypto niche mate.

what are the roi’s on atms, what’s needed on the owner’s end?

redpill me

That kid is a confirmed larper who does not own any ATMs.

How do you go about getting your machines into these places? Do you just talk to the owner and ask? Do they get a cut? It seems like every place already has a vending machine/atm, how do you find new locations?

you would probably have to cut them in otherwise there isn't any incentive for them to do it.

who here /landlord/

landord here. what do you want to know?

Commercial or residential?

Anyone ever own a bait vending machine? I have a spot near a lake and there is no bait shop in town.

Can I put a vending machine in your house?

>what are the roi’s on atms, what’s needed on the owner’s end?
Well the great thing is that there's practically no way to LOSE money, you just might pick the wrong place and your machine could stagnate. Just stipulate in your contract that you reserve the right to pull out at any time.

You can get a good Hyosung machine for about 2 grand and I suggest stocking it with at least $2500-$3000 to start with. If you're close to it(really if it's closer to your bank), you can afford to stock it with less.

Second user is correct - I do them on a 60/40 split in my favor.

AS FOR ROI
Generally, if you get a good location with high foot traffic and a cash business, you can do 5k a month at a $3 surchage and $300 max withdrawal. Most people, in general, withdraw about $60 at a time, so you can go three or four days without refilling at times. That said, there are other times, depending on where you are, where you could be refilling multiple times a day. Be careful though, sometimes banks take a few days to process the transaction on your day, so be sure to talk to them beforehand if there is a high traffic day coming up so you can continue to refill.

Do you do term (like 1 year) leases or do you rent on a monthly basis?

res
no lol.
i rent to mexicans without any contract. they've been there for like 5 years now and never missed a payment. not sure of their legal status and don't really care as long as they pay.

>no lol.
Oh come on!

why would a vending machine be inside of a house? XD

Just forget Jow Forums as a serious investment talk forum and go to reddit Jow Forumsinvesting or something, because there is no real business talk happening here.

What if you get hungry but don't feel like cooking. I'll even give you a 30% cut of the take!

This used to be discussed alot when the board was new.

Vending machines are trash. Your cost of entry and work required is too high for the roi. Also, one person breaking a machine puts you in the red for a whole year.

and they are heavy as a mother fucking bitch. made the mistake of thinking I could move one myself with a dolly. lol no.

oh lawd.

Working on a youtube channel for which I make one video a week due to busy wagie schedule

youtube.com/watch?v=E6ALnU7c1es

Use Wellington, Wellesley, Windsor vanguard funds. Shove 20k into them a year and enjoy it 20 years later

Have fun getting mugged by a nig every time you go to fill up your machine.

Good info, thanks.
How many machines do you have? What is your average monthly take per machine?

Do you find that its difficult to find good locations that don't already have an ATM?

cringe and blackpilled

should 70/30 work or is that pushing it

That's your channel? I listened to all of your videos and they were great lmao. I want to send this to my siblings in refutation of their shit tier tastes, but they'd just laugh at me because they are in the majority.

Thank your for your support, it's really just a fun hobby of mine, I live in an apartment complex and I think my neighbors can hear me when I project my voice so I get a little self conscious sometimes but whatever.

cringe

You have a radio voice bro, go invent some characters and apply for voice actor jobs, it can't hurt and won't take much time to apply and give samples

Lol this sounds interesting

I wish, my voice isn't that good.

Does Vanguard stock count as passive income?

What else gets you 10%+ every year with little to no risk

>Stay out of my crypto niche mate.

well are the people making crypto tools the "miners" in this case, or is it things like AWS or other server/hosting related companies.

i've been software developing at some big tech companies for a little while and have been really thinking how to make a little money on the side using programming skills.

even if its only 10-20k more a year to dogpile in index fund.

How much do you make per year? Most likely you'd make more by studying harder and upgrading to a better job than with side projects

I just mine altcoins, since I'm a student living in a dorm where I don't pay extra for electricity use.

I see it as my computer spitting out $200 a day in 10 years.

i'm making $135/y in Seattle. been out of school 4 years. just doing general full-stack "growth engineering".

> upgrading to a better job

yeah thats what i'm thinking now. i just interviewed at Google (YouTube) last week, but might want to try startups with more growth potential.

You're doing good then user, I'm in the same range. Good luck at Google, I've had an interview offer recently from them but declined out of laziness and wanting to stay where I am. I guess I should have taken it, maybe I'd be making more right now. But my job is comfy at another company.

But yeah I'd suggest not bothering with side projects and focusing on studying and upgrading your job.

How much would a laundromat cost to own?

You need to own/lease a spot. Then buy machines, maintain machines. Easy 80k to start.

Didn't a guy in those early halcyon days mention that it's also absurdly competitive with vending machine owners smashing up their rivals machines and even each other, to get the best pitches?

Also the spot has to have really good sewage not shitty rusty pipes, you are using large quantities of water non-stop and flushing shit down into the sewer, you will have backups if you aren't careful, get the property heavily inspected

How hard is it to type short erotic ebook and sell them 3$ each or shit like that?

Can you break down the numbers for me?

So you're putting 3000 of your own money in. You charge 3$ per transaction. You get 50 transactions out of 3000$. If you use the average of 60$ a transaction. You're only making about 150$ per fill. Is this 3000$ a loan? How do you get the original 3k back? After its all been withdrawn?

As someone who used do this for a living. We would fill some of these smaller machines once a week. Maybe twice depending on the week. Most ATMs in these high traffic areas had 10k at least.

Peoples banks get charged to withdraw the cash so several days after the cash is dispensed the money is back in your account
