Can anyone provide a definitive guide on btc mining? Im gonna be gone for over a month and have access to free electricity. I have an AW 107, not expecting much but maybe I can make a few pennies while I'm out

I would recommend mining to anyone with free power.
The current earnings are pretty much bottomed out, and depending on your electricity price can be unprofitable, but anyone saying that mining isn't worth anything is lying so long as you're making more thank you're spending in electricity costs When you said military though, I really think you shouldn't risk it. Touchy subject in a lot of workplaces and could probably get you in trouble, especially in a gov position (something like theft of government resources).
If you really want to risk it, I'd try to cram as many graphics cards as possible into a ATX full tower. If you can learn to tweak stuff quick, get some Vega 56/64 cards off the used market and get them mining Monero. If you're a brainlet, get 1080 TIs, look up "ETHlargementpill", and start mining ETH/ETC.

I pay next to nothing for power but that isnt really the problem. The problem is hardware. You need to find hardware at a price that will yeild a profit you give a shit about.
