Don't forget to pay tax on your findings. Same with tips if you're a pizza delivery driver or waitress. We.. I mean they have the technology to know the exact amount of your findings.

Found 400kr in the form of 2 200kr notes after new years eve once.

I pick up every penny even though I know it's objectively not worth my time

Best I found was a $10. Ive found probably all lower bills and change before.

10 euros two days ago

I don't consider coins to be money. That includes electrified coins like bitcoin.

found a couple grand and some jewelry in some old ladies house at 2am one time. she also had a usb drive with over 9,000 bitcoin. she must have been saving them since the great depression.

how much is a second or two of your time worth

the break-even point is $300k/year post-tax for one penny to be worth one second of your time

but most likely it takes you two or even three seconds to pick it up, and probably more, so it's closer to $50k. Anyone making more than $50k probably shouldn't be picking up pennies

>be me 17 pushing carts at chain grocery store
>find a small purse with nothing but a roll of 20's in a rubber
>$500 even
Me being beyond a poorfag at that time spent it on gas and videya

I was swimming in a wave pool once and a $20 bill hit me in the face. Was pretty nice. My buddy found a $50 in the parking lot and we spent it all on candy when we were kids.

Well user, first we need to calculate how much energy you expend thinking "Hmm a penny, should I grab it?" As well the energy expended in bending over to grab it and stick in your pocket. Afterwards we also have to calculate your energy expenditure in having to remember you have a penny and sticking it where all your other coins are, likely another calculation of energy expended to go do this "simple task."

To make it simple lets just say it wastes 1 calorie.

A loaf of bread costs: $2

20 slices of bread in a loaf

Thats 10 cents per slice
1 slice has 70 calories
7 calories per cent

In effect you gained 6 calories and lost 1 calorie for the effort of taking that penny.

Of course, most of these numbers are just guesses.

I took the simpler approach: $0.01 * number of seconds in a year / number of seconds it takes you to pick up the penny

it probably takes the average person long enough to think about it and pick it up that it's only worthwhile if you're making less than six figures after taxes

Stupid kid. If only he waited a decade or two to buy in on the bitcoin release he would be a billionaire by now.

It was the best decision we could have made at the time.

not judging you

found a $750 paycheck on the floor with signature on the back, tried to cash it on a store, somehow failed

Found 5$ one time. Only pick em up if there heads up.

Found an old mined bitcoin floating around in a dirty pool once.

What did you do then? You never cashed it out?

the machine didn't accept it for some reason, he asked for an ID, told him I forgot it at home, I was lucky he didn't call the police.

I've only tried it once, still have it, no idea what to do with it.

One time at a festival I found a roll of $20's on the ground totaling $220.

if it's older than 6 months it will have been returned to the original account

We know it was in the purse of the girl you raped and murdered, Muhammad.

I found $200 in a box in a cafe under a fake floor in the box.

I think a drug dealer must have put it in there for a pick-up or something because I am from a major drug trafficking area and they are always doing weird shit like this.

czechs aren't cucked

Also found $20 once. Definitely picked it up. I had an old jew woman bend down next to my table at a pizza place and pick up a penny and ask me and my dad if it was ours. When we said no she put it in her pocket. I'm a jew and this made me embarrassed.

Absolutely, always pays to keep your eyes peeled. Change adds up, actually found a $100 Bill in a parking lot as well as other smaller bills.

Walking local roads for cans in rural murica' (something to do don't need the $) I've found all kinds of shit from jewelry to paraphernalia, dvds, tools you name it. It's ridiculous the amount and quality of shit people leave behind and toss from their vehicles.

As a kid in the 90s I was playing in front of the house and saw something yellow coming towards me carried by the wind. I stepped in it and it turned out to be a pineapple (Australian for a fifty). Good times were had but I think I spent it on action figures from the street fighter movie.

Assuming you work 50 hrs a week for 49 weeks a year and that it takes 5 seconds to pick up a penny then that would be around 18k a year after tax. Picking up change is therefore one of the most profitable uses of your time next to working, even if it is just one penny. You are treating time spent picking up change as mutually exclusive to working but that isn't the reality. It is always worth it, depending on how much you value the judgement of others.
