We try to tell them that while there's certainly a lot to be optimistic about, the reality is that mainnet is still quite a ways off.
Even if the code is "done", something as important as this is needs extensive testing and code auditing before its official. Their customers are going to expect absolute perfection and can't tolerate the possibility of anything like the DAO hack on their hands.
Sergey is smart. He knows they have one chance at this. Better to get it right out the gate, especially considering they don't have much competition.
