DJT is a Japanese language 勉強スレ for 人々 interested in the language, anime, manga, visual novels, light novels and Japanese video games. Japanese speakers learning English are welcome, too. No Australians (UK proxy too) and Singaporeans allowed.
I have an issue a where I study hard for like 2 months then I stop for a month. Then I lose a lot of the language I had learned. Then the cycle repeats. How do you guys keep yourselves to keep studying and not lose focus.
Ehh my PC is unplugged in the corner and I haven’t posted really in a long time

>Does 当年 mean "this year", or "the years you were employed at your previous job?" This year, if this year was 2019, generally "当年" is 2019 and from January 2019
>"this year (if you were employed at your previous job in the same year you got employed this company)" This maybe, because companies need his 源泉徴収票 to issue the year-end tax adjustment for him.
I'm having trouble that I imagine is common in studying the vocabulary of any language: it's hard to memorize the vocabulary for their meanings out of context. However, I think it's very important particularly for Japanese because you have to be able to recognize kanji.
Possible solution: stop trying to remember the meaning of words when you're reviewing vocab alone and just stick to being able to know the pronunciation of kanji, learning the meaning the words by seeing how they're used in sentences.
A problem with this is that this take the effort of being able to recognize words that are only written in kana, (like "よく," "それ," "もう,"), but the meaning of these words is so simple and they are so few compared to the number of words represented by kanji that it's not a significant concern. Maybe making sure to recall the meaning of these words only would be a good policy.

>learning the meaning the words by seeing how they're used in sentences I once thought the same strategy would work out in English study.. I think there’s no “most” efficient way in building vocabulary, we have to use anything in hand. And it’d be long way desu..
Continue to never completely disregard the language for an extended period of time. Even if you aren't actively learning, make sure you're still seeing or listening to the language.
Does anyone live around the Murakami (Niigata) area? Did you feel the earthquake about 10 days ago?

Morocco doesn't post here because he wants to focus on learning, he still asks a question here once in a while when he doesn't understand something. The rest can go fuck themselves since they're all retarded.
