Personal Branding

Your YouTube video looks like it was filmed in the 80s. Time for an upgrade.

Get a newer smartphone to film it along with a stabilizer like the SMOVE mobile/pro, have someone use it and film you doing it. Before you post your (hopefully) epic video, send it to brands that are into sponsoring your kind of content. Tell them you’ll re-record the video and wear their brand, put their banner in the background, and/or give them a shoutout at the beginning if Re-recording isn’t in the cards. Tell them you’ve had some initial interest from some brands (even if you haven’t...they don’t need to know that), but their company (Nike for example) is the brand you would prefer to partner with. If they ask what other brands you’ve been in talks with just say “some well-known sports brands”. Then take their offer and bring it to their competitor (Reebok for example) and say hey Nike is sucking my dick but I wanted to see if you would have a better overall promotional package because I like your (insert compliment bullshit here) and offer to work with then right away if they throw you something attractive.

Your skill set is unique and would be perfect for a TV spot, they will definitely bite. Just be friendly and keep reaching out to different people until you find someone with actual decision-making power. Good luck.

well depends on how broad your definition of "one trick" is. if that trick is setting guinness world records, then possibly. but I have five right now and I have a list of 13 more that I can break with 1-3 months of training each, as well as continual improvements over previously set records. the two records on the channel right now are not too impressive, but the first one i did was actually kind of cool

also I have a PhD in math which I hope I can flip in some way

all i have is my VHS recorder and a cameraphone that doesn't record video, but you're right I will invest in a GoPro or something

this is a good idea pitting brands against each other but who do you recommend I contact in the brands though? so far I was going on the brand websites emailing whatever marketing address they have listed. but would I have more success walking into the local nike store trying to talk to a manager? I feel like i need a better way to get my foot in the door

>phd in math
>cant figure out how to brand himself

university education

it's true. i can talk your face off about Hadamard Products but no one taught me to run a social media account
