So whats next? I need to get rich frens. I am 18 yo zoomer and was too young for the website, high level software era but the next era should be upon us soon. What is it?

crossposting this from Jow Forums because no one is answering there.

is data the new oil?
what will be the api economy worth in 1,2,5,10 years?
ML, AI and automation is already starting to build momentum
are trustless self executing smart contracts a value proposition for companys using all of the above?
how could we connect data, api's, ml, ai to self executing smart contracts?

fuck. you've baited the link posters.
anyway
>AI/ML
Clearly I cant compete here. There are billions that are going into R&D'ing this in the private sector already.

>api economy
Hmm, building REST APiIs is already quite easy. I wonder if this could be improved somehow though.

>smart contracts
This is just a case of building the tools. Which again, is no easy feat. Designing a deterministic VM etc. is PhD level.

crypto, retard, for the next 5-10 years. after that, asteroid mining

How do I get in on asteroid mining right now

if you are looking for interesting things to study, look into micro-services, containerization, faas, serverless architecture, graphql, kafka

Planetary Resources Inc.
Deep Space Industries
they are private companies and there are several others. keep an eye out for their IPOs down the road. also, crypto is infinitely divisible, it will be the only way to fund these types of projects.

how do i profit off of these though? they just seem like design patterns

This is a very promising business for sure. It makes me wish I pursued some kind of stem career. Imagine how cool it would be having a career designing and testing all this cool new tech that will go out there and it's actually for a good purpose.

roughly every decade to decade and a half there is something new, that if you got in early, it can grant you generational wealth. crypto and asteroid mining are the next two.
>testing all this cool new tech
this would be awesome. i cannot wait to be able to travel to mars

but crypto isnt really new user. we had 9 years to get in but didnt.

only 2% of people in the world own crypto right now. it is early as fuck and it will change business and finance as we know it. most cannot imagine the value it will have in 3-5 years.

>we had 9 years to get in but didnt.
speak for yourself. been in 5 years

>hardware (IBM)
>Operating Systems, low level software (Microsoft, MacOS)
>High level software and networking (Facebook, Amazon, Twitter)
>NGR coin

ok. but 2% isnt some small number. That number is actually huge whe you consider that a third of the worlds population doesnt even have access to consistent internet, even more dont have access to banking and will therefore never be able to buy crypto, fewer still, have enough disposable cash to invest in crypto, then even fewer again, would ever even consider investing in crypto after the $50 fees in december and cryptokitties.

IBM, Microsoft, MacOS, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Bitcoin. it just sounds right.

user clearly FinTech is the next industry. For many reasons that these brainlets will never understand. So if you want to be involved then start making useful applications by using smart contracts. This will soon be possible when chainlink releases their main oracle network.

I suggest a few of these applications to consider making.

Decentralized uber (using smart contracts with GPS data feeds provided by chainlink)

Decentralized marketplaces

Or trustless insurance.

user if you can build these applications off FinTech in the future. You will be a Zoomer.

>it is early as fuck and it will change business and finance as we know it
>and it will change business and finance as we know it
ok, then. i guess you hate money don't take my word for it.

>would ever even consider investing in crypto after the $50 fees in december and cryptokitties.

He doesn't know that Bitcoin is programmable money which can be forked into more efficient versions.

Thats not the point I was trying to make. Of course I know that. The point is that crypto's reputation has been permanently stained.

>Decentralized uber
why does uber need to be decentralised?

good tip user thanks

Because when you have smart cars who communicate to each other at the speed of light. You don't want to be using a fucking uber app, you want cars to be using smart contracts because there will be NO uber driver to talk to.
So how do you trust that smart car?

Well you could trust the company who makes them to get you to your destination or you could have a smart contract that automagically tracks everything and releases funds when you arrive safely (automatically calculated via smartcontract).

Keep in mind this system is theorically cheaper then uber as you don't need employees in a central building.

you're welcome fren
