just because europe seems small doesn't mean there really is any lack of space when you consider the whole continent. the nordics, though developed and rich countries, have so much unused land.
countries like poland (somewhat), ukraine, belarus, romania, bulgaria, hungary have massive patches of lands that are completely unused and noone really gives a shit.
