SkyCoin SkyMiner

I ve been exclusively mining BTC for quite a while, unfortunately part of my equipment broke and now I m not sure if I m ready to reinvest a high amount of money. Untill now the equipment price has been the main issue till I found SKYMiner , what do you think about it? How is it to mine skycoin?

Well, first things first, skyminer isn t about mining , ironically, because the do not use the same algorithm as blockchain 1.0 and 2.0. They replaced PoW and PoW with a trust network based on influence

So why would I be intrested in getting the skyminer then? what does it do?

why is it called 'miner' then?

OP. Best miner there is. Can't wait to start selling bandwidth though!

Depends, u have two options:
Official Skyminer or a DIY miner.
First is a bit more expensive than the second, but still worth it compared to the BTC miner. Thank is old chunk, Skyminer is the new hip in town

Skycoin is a complex project. The skyminer equipment serves as a personal cloud that lets you join the skywire mesh network . With skyminer you get at least 3 important features: computability , storage and bandwidth

Emulating the language of big players that have already settled in the collective mentality of the crypto world is a good thing , don't you think?

forget btc mining, you won't stand a chance even if you reinvest. wasted $$$. unless you have a magic wand and can make the mining centers disappear. or start another flood in China

No chance unless a 12 GPU rig and joining a mining pool! Best try your chances with a SKY miner

Yea , the bandwidth ideea is great , both for letting you share the bandwidth on the network in order to attain the speed and space you need for your blockchain and for the fact that excess bandwidth can be sold in order to stop waste and make money . From what i ve read they are going to apply the same policy to excess storage and computational power , which is an extra way of making money. Good initiative

hard time for BTC miners in China.

>>over 200 computers used to mine bitcoin and ethereum were confiscated after the local power grid operator reported abnormal electricity usage

this guy didn't pay the bill which was about $950/day.

find alternatives mate

BTC mining is soo expencive . Both equipment and the programming of it are highly expensive . A dev asked me for 500$ an hour to work on it ... so yea , i ll go with the SkyCoin CX because any python dev can learn CX in no time and that saves a lot of money

It is called a miner because the Skywire uses Skyminer as an access point while acting as a miner for processes involving Coin Hours. Users will pay CH for bandwidth, and Skyminer operators will receive those CH as payment.

Lol Welcome to Sky School
skywug.net/forum/

And you can swap CoinHours for cash with their buyback feature (that they say offers the smallest fees in the biz) Or yo can use them to buy apps or movies or other products on their platform . This really sounds like a minimal risk investment , if you don t need all your node s power you can split the bill with others that are interested

I honestly dont understand what u fuckin explain here
does it mine the coin or not???
it feels like it doesn't mine the coin but then u compare it with btc mining which mines the coin
arrrrgh

It is something which doesn't imply risk at all, if you ask me. From any perspective it worth it, whatever you chose you gain profit.

Skycoin is a pre mined coin , but the Skyminer provides all the other features of a clasical miner (storage and comp power) and aditional bandwidth feature . Less risk , more economical opportunities

even if you get the miner you cant mine lol, you can beg the dev to start mining so its a total scam

marketing, dumbass

Pure BS crypto :/

No it doesnt mine anything. It lets you run an open source vpn (that you can run on any laptop). The devs supposedly send you skycoin if you email them about your "miner", nut there is no evidence that they actually do.

Why is hashing called mining?

It still earns crypto, it's just that your 'mining' by providing actually useful things like compute, storage and bandwidth resources.

Testnet rewards are well documented. explorer.skycoin.net/app/transaction/205fc340007bd1c14192bb58ae448fb369158112392ead7e3969b62dc4016c55

It allows you to connect to other miners via a socks5 proxy for free during testnet, which is faster than a traditional vpn.

Don't forget that the coin supply is time locked and only releases a certain amount every year, only if the devs vote to do so.
