Skycoin Skyminer

How many coins can I mine with this meme cube per month? How reliable this hardware? I mean it uses sd flash which isn't reliable.

Why would you mine this shitcoin? At least mine something valuable.

This cube looks cute.

Good question fren. The answer is zero, but if you email the devs they might send you some.
But no one knows how many, or when they'll send them, or who they send them to. Because they don't keep records of that boring stuff :)

Kind of too late to get in to the test network, the line to get white listed is huge.

Hardware works well though, it's just single board computers directing traffic. Once they get CXO up and running that will be geared for storage and you'll attach some HDDs to it or they'll make variants that focus on storage.

8 per node, max of 8 nodes each in a DIY miner, idk about official miners.

Also, not sure if it is actually mining, or really more of a reimbursement to incentivize running nodes for the test net. Whatever, money is money.

that explorer tho explorer.skycoin.net/

What do you think that proves?
If the devs are distributing funds unfairly an API they control is hardly trustworthy, so it's useless.

Yeah, but I keep making transactions for various things and they show up there with complete accuracy.

Fair is an interesting word though, what does fair mean to you?

>Fair is an interesting word though, what does fair mean to you?
It means accountability. It means having auditable records so that people know the rewards aren't all being sent to synth's cousin.

Do you own one of this cubs? How many coins does it bring you? What apps are running on this nods? How much bandwidth it's actually consuming?

Do they really sell this "mining" cubs for 1BTC?
thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/02/15/anatomy-of-a-cryptocurrency-scam-in-the-wild/

No they sell the mining cube for 0.1 btc and then you get 0.9 btc worth of SKY

That's a fair point. It's also a test network that's involved in the process of building these accountability methods, so it's kind of a chicken/egg question. Probably why the price is so low for now.

Yeah, I've got a DIY I put together. It's only four nodes so I've gotten about 35 sky for June and July. I'm pretty sure I'm not Synth's cousin.

The devs test and tinker with things and other users can use my node as a proxy. I have a few GB used through it over the past two months. Not nearly enough to reach my ISP's cap.

Why should I buy SKY for BTC if I want to "mine" SKY and sell it for BTC? Do they give some discount on SKY so I can sell it on the market with profit?

>I've gotten about 35 sky for June and July
It looks nice! Good profit, user.
>I've got a DIY I put together
Did you use orange pis?

It's not a chicken/egg problem. You either have accountability or you don't.
What's "chicken/egg" about publishing a list of miner applications, with dates and wallets they received rewards in?
Publicly identifiable information would not be needed.
The only possible reasons are laziness, disorganisation or malice.
There is no legitimate reason for that information to not be public and auditable.

>How many coins can I mine with this meme cube per month?
None, we are full.

The idea I got is that it's more of an early backer thing. A way to support the project's development in the alpha stage.

Just some odroids that I borrowed from work. Been looking at buying pic related's fucking weird setup. Like, it has the openwrt router built in? The cpu doesn't seem as good as the orange pi primes. It almost seems like you could hook this thing straight up to a router and get better data transfer rates per node.

Well, you have to have nodes to get consensus running, right? They're testing nodes now. I mean if you're just talking about making their whitelisted stats public, it seems like a waste of time since that can just be made up, right?

You can see most of that information in the explorer anyway without being spoonfed the information: explorer.skycoin.net/app/transaction/205fc340007bd1c14192bb58ae448fb369158112392ead7e3969b62dc4016c55

I run a 8nodes skyminer. got 48SKY for the first month and 36SKY for the 2nd

This Will solve the whitelistening thing. Officials are automatically whitelisted. You only need to register it.

Oh right, I always forget about that. Thanks user.

Can't wait for the auto whitelisting tool for main net. I have so many devices to test.

Yes you get a discount. And you can build your own Skyminer if you want to.

Synth mentioned the rewards might be increased for the next couple months. Cha-ching!
