Why would anyone want to use our small-fry chainlink nodes when there are sure to be big players operating nodes like SWIFT, Microsoft, Docusign, etc. Even if you need like 5 oracles to ensure trust, you could just use nodes you know are operated by big companies. Will staking even be possible for us?
Guys I just had a terrible thought
Users don’t get to pick which nodes they use. They can only specify that they meet certain requirements.
You're right.
That's why you need to signup for LinkPool.
you are correct. why do you think the ICO minimum was so high? faggot neets can't contribute anything to the network. anyone here who thinks they are going to make money running a node is a retard.
Incorrecto.
They can specify exact nodes or they can do random ones based off certain criteria.
OP you will likely need to provide high quality data that is normally chargeable. Not many people will pay you much for the weather. But other data they will pay for
who is right? I'm planning on running a node from day 1 for many years so I should hold some seniority
What the fuck? Is this true?
someone refute this pls
Yes, of course you will have to provide valuable data through your node. However, this could be data that is already free to obtain, or data that is behind a paywall (such as Bloomberg FX prices etc). You would pay Bloomberg a few to use their data, and then you would earn income when your node is used to provide that data to smart contracts
im just in it for the meme potential i dont actually think its going to work
i just want it to moon anyways even if it sucks and no1 uses it
People don't trust big players like Microsoft.
These companies regularly and repeatedly violate their user's trust.
Thanks for the answer but that wasn't what I was asking.
same kek
Any moves for a US accessible linkpool?
Ah shit brah. No one will buy anything. Those big, anonymous, decentralized boys gonna collateralize their transactions at 10 million with 100% of the chainlink supply. Down to a penny we go.
Nah, we're cool. Running our own nodes is probably out, but we'll be able to sell at profit and reinvest instead of passively sort of working for a living.
Notice how most of Jow Forums wants to sell their link for 50$, 100$, some delusional enought to think they will be able to sell for 1000$, or even 2500$. Not many people in here are insterested in running a node. Link was designed to be worth less than 1$, which is quite possible, as Sergey will drop his 650 millions of LINK into market.
I'm counting on it
>Link was designed to be worth less than 1$
Then why is it divisible to 0.000000000000000001? The more transactions the network has, the more LINK will be locked up in nodes or otherwise held, the more people want to buy to pay fees and stake. Anyone with half a brain can see LINK has the potential to reach several hundred dollars if not more.
Based on Sergey's most optimistic projections made at 2017 Silicon Valley ETH Meetup, we are looking at $0.83 being the optimal price for LINK to function properly. That's at least 3 years out though.
Browse smartcontract.com website
Browse for what data i need for my smart contact...financial > interest rates > LIBOR
Select how many oracles i want to source this from
Select the contract value (LINK penalty)
Select node reputation i need for this contract
Randomly select nodes or manually select based on extra criterion, such as, i need only nodes where the node operator has AML/CTF certification
Done
At every step the list of available oracles will get smaller
Reputation providers will offer some off chain certification for value add
companies who offer private apis will likely sell api access to chainlink node operators.
don't buy this scam coin
