No it’s not. East-Central Washington is actually very steppe and desert like, with rugged canyons and mountains too.

I love both the desert and the forest, the only places I would not live in are the woods in the eastern part of the USA, where it’s all gray thin trees and rotting leaves, or far northern Canada, the part where it’s literally flat land with snow, no mountains or trees, just a plain of snow.
