Why do Italians hate themselves?

Talking personally, I despise many Italians for being not aware of what they own as a culture. Most of Italians are only able to shout MUH GIOCONDA MUH PIZZA, not actually knowing our country's story and killing it with populism and bad political choices. We're having the worst government since the modern Republic after WW2. And honestly it hurts to see that; I feel like promoting the good we have with positivity but if you ask me what I think about people I can't be fully happy

I am a progressist. None of the parties you mentioned has me happy, we just vote what's the least bad at the moment. I would vote a right party if i considered it more progressive and sensed than a left wing party or any other chance. Italy is going through a nationalist, conservative and populist moment, way more righteous than berlusconi's times.
The fact is there are people opposing that, but they just don't feel represented, for the big part, by any progressive party, simply cause they're not strong, being mostly old, slow, and poor in action, mostly enjoying complaining rather than working. Current party is not working neither, but Salvini does work on raising sheeps consent and he's good at it. He's just the intern ministry and the feeling is that he's the Italian leader. The basics of the party are populism and hate towards others, a low class right party.
I honestly find there's a big amount of righteous and racist Italians in here, it's not that representative of the complex nation
