For me it's primarily the taste, and also habit. I drink ten cups a day and all of them taste fantastic. The water here makes the coffee taste much better than on the continent. Even in the suthernmost parts where local water is used it tastes bad since it's on a different tectonic plate, which gives off tasting water.

Nah I'm the reason, I only drink about ~5 dl a day. Used to be a coffe-fiend but it really screwed with my stomach so I had to cut down on it.

I never understood what's the point of Decaff's existence. Do people actually drink coffee for the flavor? I've heard that the mere scent of coffee is capable of giving people energy, so perhaps it's more of a psychological thing? I wouldn't be surprised if the flavor can trick the mind into giving you a similar boost, so maybe it's more for old people who can't handle the caffeine but still need the energy boost or something.
