We like nordics in general, and try to emulate you.
Lithuanians like Swedes in particular the most (common history, current investments and cooperation. They are also shilling for us in nb8 the most, and we have Swedish bank puppet president as well).
Funny thing is , Baltoscandia is a concept created by Swede and further developed by Lithuanian
What's going on here bros
Nothing , just Northern European brotherly love
The only Lithuanian guy I've ever seen had blonde hair and looked perfect.
Pic related : Lithuanian hockey player and Swedish bride
That ring looks to be made of fishing line and a hair tie.
I am norwegian don't believe the flag
I have a lot of experience with Baltic people and generally speaking Lithuanians are based and good workers but Latvians are evil scheming liars who will swindle and undermine you every chance they get. Never met any Estonians.
Baltic people are more SLAVIC than n*rdcuck
Lithuanians are very poor, don't mock them.
Latvians created Soviet union. We don't trust them.

Is Vilnius worth visiting? Been to Riga and Tallinn and visited parts of Estonia and Latvia, but never been to Lithuania
not a fan of balta desu
They got raped by russians and baltic people and slavs were the same people until they split up
Slavs were simply first mentioned in 6th century AD. Much more likely that we just split off from a common ancestor.
If you liked those, you should like Vilnius too.
Vilnius old town is part of Unesco. Jewish, Polish, German culture meet there.
I would highly recommend it. We also have our own independent republic inside city centre, similar to Danish Christiania (Uzupis)
Proof?
300 years in the Russian Empire plus they intermixed with eachother because of the close proximity proofs are the slavic words they have
Baltic, Slavic, Germanic, Latin, Hellenic were the same people until they split up
Bad thread, fuck the nordcucks
is this the russian slave general?
yes but they split up before thousands of years, slavs and baltoids split around 600-800AD
embrace your slavic blood brother
And slavs wonder why we want nothing to do with them.
Let's just ignore slavic posters.
Even Russians classify us as different groups before that.
Go read something in Lithuanian or Latvian, you'll see a major different compared to Slavic languages. If anything, the grammar is the area where we have the most in common.
Tbh, that's bullshit. We're at least 20 years away from that and even then, I'd put Lithuania in central Europe rather than Northern. PR is the only reason people embrace this.
Probably you are right, but it makes sense for us to embrace our Northern neighbors and strife to be like them.
If I'm Belorussian can I pass, because Belarus and Lithuania were one country (the Great Duchy of Lithuania)?
honorary balts in denial
You're Nordic

>The social structure and evolution of Lithuanians and other Balt peoples resembled that of societies in Northern and Eastern Europe. The historiographic description of Lithuanians as “Vikings of the overland”, by Edvardas Gudavičius, represents more than a mere metaphor as it reveals typological similarities which become evident in comparing Viking and Curonian societies. The same is true speaking of other Balt tribes.
Did you know that Lithuanian mythology are pretty similar to Scandinavian one?

my brother
Extremely based and redpilled general. ugh..
>This paper compares two mythological models of the world – Scandinavian and Lithuanian. Both traditions usually depict the structure of the world as a tree with the roots representing the Underworld, the trunk – the world of men, and the branches – the realm of the gods. Both models of the world contain not only similar structure, but smaller details as well, such as the functions of the gods, mythological creatures or symbols. Knowing that both Lithuanian and Scandinavian cultures are close geographically and also have the same roots, perhaps we can assume that both mythologies are telling the same story, only differently.
Ahmed, stop shitposting there. You are not Nordic, even white. Fuck off
>Scandinavian Queen of the Dead is also similar to Lithuanian Giltinė (now usually directly translated as the Reaper). She is not mentioned among one of the four main Lithuanian gods, but the image is quite popular even today. The reason why she is worth of mentioning is her similarity to the Norse Queen of the Dead, while Velnias by his features is more similar to the Scandinavian Loki. If we had to assign to each god of one culture an equivalent from another culture, putting Velnias and Loki on one shelf would probably make more sense. Moreover, Hel and Giltinė both have an unpleasant appearance. Giltinė is often imagined as tall, skinny, hungry and with a long tongue, full of poison – no wonder the name itself is connected with Lithuanian words such like “gilti” or “gelti”, which mean “to sting” (Gimbutienė, 2002, p. 40). However, Giltinė is also said to be the sister of goddess Laima (among many spheres, the weaver of the life-thread) (p. 28) and the ability to (pre)determine a person’s life makes them both more similar to the Scandinavian Norns: the goddesses of fate (Munch, 1926, p. 30).
Interesting
...
>According to both Norse and Lithuanian mythology one can get to the Underworld in two ways: horizontally or vertically. The former refers to travelling on a road and the latter to falling down through “levels” of the world.
The horizontal travelling to the Underworld in Lithuanian myth is relatively simple: one only has to go without knowing the exact direction (Beresnevičius, 1990, p. 89). Although the hero of the tales that tell about people going to the Underworld is often a man, the stories of girls and young women being the heroines of similar travels are regarded as relics from the times of matriarchy and suggest that in those days women were the ones who would travel to the Underworld for some purpose (p. 105). An example of such could be a sister traveling to save her brothers from a curse cast by their stepmother as in the well-known tale “Dvylika brolių, juodvarniais lakstančių” [“Twelve brothers, twelve black ravens”], where the girl has to climb a high mountain and do various tasks (the image of a mountain will be discussed later). The Norsemen also imagined their way to Hel as a road – the Helveg. It is described as a “troublesome road” (McCulloch, 1930, p. 304), which partially relates to the tasks that a hero or a heroine in Lithuanian folk tales has to accomplish on the way to the Underworld. People traveling to the Scandinavian Underworld could ride horses, most likely because horses were buried with their owners (p. 305). Although Lithuanians also had a custom to bury the horse with the owner, they could go to the Underworld only on foot or ride in a chariot (never on the horse, although the horse does know the way there) (Beresnevičius, 1990, p.97). Hermod, one of the characters of the Norse mythology, rode to Hel in nine days (McCulloch, 1930, p. 304).

Greenland isn't included in the Baltoscandia

>Pakštas states in his book The Baltoscandian Confederation that the term Baltoscandia was first used by Sten de Geer in an article in "Geografiska Annaler" in 1928.[3] In this book Baltoscandia is described in several different dimensions: as a geographical and cultural, as an economic and as a political and military unit.[4] Kazys Pakštas proposed that one of the ways for the small nations to withstand the influence coming from the large ones is to unite and to cooperate more closely among each other. As he mentions, unification is possible only among nations that are similar by their size, geographical environment, religion, also they have to respect and to tolerate each other.
As the foreign policy of Lithuania has shifted towards Northern Europe even more after Dalia Grybauskaitė came into post of the President of Lithuania,[5] voices questioning the return of the Baltoscandian Confederation idea are on the rise in this country.[6]
it's a possession of the Baltoscandic Empire nonetheless
Funny thing is, Baltoscandia is becoming reality.

Strange, why give up all that oil money, and access to the arctic passage? If Baltoscandia were to form in the next few decades, Greenland might be their most important claim to money and power as the arctic ice melts.
it was formed back in 20th century
For nowadays it should be updated to include Greenland, I agree
What do we have in common with Balts? I don't mean to sit on a high horse here but the rest of the world looks up to Sweden since we, until just a few years ago, were a homogenic society that have contributed with a lot of things like the pacemaker, dynamite, SAAB, Volvo, Scania, IKEA, Spotify, Minecraft, the Nobel prize and we've discovered a lot of elements. That's not too chabby when you realize that even to this day are only ~7 ethnic Swedes.
We don't even have anything in common with the Finns except that we have ruled them and a small portion of their population speaks Swedish. But what do we have in common with the Balts? Language? No. Culture? No. Race? No. And I don't mean this in a negative way but we don't have much in common.
We Swedes are first of all Scandinavian meaning that Norwegians and Danes are our brothers and then the lads on Iceland and Färöarna. And being Scandinavian we're also Germanic meaning that our bros are also the Brits, Dutch, Belgian, Austrians, Germans. With them we share both race and a little bit of language too.
