Should I quit my job and do Uber/lyft full time? Any Jow Forumsbros done this?

I hate my fucking job, I work a dumb 9-5 in an in-house marketing department for a sales company, and all I do is photoshop images for their website/online store. Super mundane, everyone complains about everything and no one is ever in a good mood. I make $16 an hour and would make more if I did rideshare. Should I fucking do it or what? Been with the company for 3 years.

I just don’t know how to quit. Should I just tell my boss “hey I’m leaving because I’m going to work for lyft.”?

Try to be promoted/better wage. Then try to find a better company to do this job in. Then lyft

i too am interested in uber/lyft. However if I was you, I'd try to negotiate a raise before leaving. Depends how much you dislike the job desu.

I can’t. It’s a small company and there’s really no room for me to grow, let alone me gaining motivation to try harder.

I would do uber on the side, keep wagekeking and putting all the money into eth and link and then move to thailand and chill on the beach

Look here spongebob, just tell your boss I'm looking for a higher wage elsewhere and I've found something, and give him a 2 weeks and bounce.

I really hate it, it’s not even about money anymore. I’ve been telling people I know that the job feels like it’s very bad for my mental health. I just don’t feel respected, I feel dumber than I was a few years ago because I’m not challenged nor do I talk to anyone, and everyone around me feels miserable

>It’s a small company and there’s really no room for me to grow
easy choice then, get out.

But is lyft/Uber really the best option I have? I’m not sure if I should do that or find a new job.

>But is lyft/Uber really the best option I have?
probably not. try getting your foot in the door at a large company which inherently has opportunity for career growth. it worked out for me anyways.

>your boss
I thought that the company was optimized so that your boss is a soulless AI Persona core? From what I heard from friends its designed so that you never need to meet your boss more than twice.

Just ask for competitive compensation. Hiring new people is a pain and if you're doing a somewhat decent job they probably will pay you more to stay. And don't accept lip service.

is ride sharing a meme? i was told you're just sucking out your cars equity?

you don't get compensated for gas or depreciation, so you're going to run that thing into the ground within a few years

The derpreciation on your vehicle combined with maintenance expenses do not pan out to more than $15/hr unless youre a driving wizard and know all of the best hours/areas to be driving. Also, if you get in an accident I bet your insurance will worm their way out of paying out because contractor.

Freelance you lazy cunt.

You can start your own business with your own skills and make your own money. You only have to deal with customers instead of asshole coworkers. Eventually you can hire a team who will yearn for your brownie points, and never cease to reflect your good vibes.

GET OUT THERE AND MAKE THE WORLD BETTER YOU WHINY CUNT

I bet you think leasing is a bad idea too.
>t. Naively listens to boomers

When you consider depreciation on the vehicle, Uber drivers make less than minimum wage. It's basically a predatory loan service. You can get a few hundred bucks this weekend, but now your next major service is a thousand miles sooner.

What about Ubering as also being a way to network with people you might not otherwise interact with?

Look into delivering for AMAZON during the week and driving uber only on friday saturday nights and Sunday.

I deliver for amazon I got my own truck. I fill up in the mornings and finish around 7 pm. After Work I exercise eat and if I feel like it I uber for a couple hours in the evenings Fri sat night tips are good. Goodluck.

Drunk millenials and plebs who can't afford a car? Truly the upper echelons that I want to be networking with.

How do I start freelancing? I know some social media marketing (ran their Facebook for a year, had a 70k user following) and graphic design( I’m pretty good at photoshop). Where can I advertise my services? Will people even pay me for stuff? I seriously don’t know how to start, but I would love to freelance. Help user

God helps those that helps themselves. DYOR.
People write books about this kind of shit ffs user kys jesus tits

Be a fuckin freemason nigga, or join the military, or both, for God tier networking. What UBER will give you is a little social networking.. and I mean purely social

You don’t need anyone to give you permissions to quit user lol you can just block them all and never answer them again :D

just google freelance websites like fiver and shit, unless of course you wanna stay at your shitty old job after all

>a few years later

Ridesharing in very populated areas (the areas that are worth doing it in) is going to get more difficult as long as taxi companies have money to play politics with. NY has already limited their active uber population at taxis behest.

you should try uber on your days off and see if you like it, how much you earn. make a decision after doing that

I drive for Lyft. I imagine Uber is the same way.

It sucks. That's the honest truth. It's a job working with customers. You know how customers in stores and restaurants complain about the most idiotic shit? It's a thousand times worse when you're driving them somewhere.

You're either going too fast, too slow, too bumpy, too hot, too cold, not talking to them enough, talking to them too much. And they'll definitely let you know with a bad review.

They want to smoke, eat, piss, vomit in your car. YOUR car. And they'll leave you a bad review if you tell them "no".

Live in a small town? 2 or 3 bad reviews and it's game over for you.

Seriously, find a relaxing job even if it doesn't pay as much. Money isn't everything.

Oh, and by the way, expect to have 0 free time because you'll be spending it cleaning your car. Your customers will expect it to be SPOTLESS. You have to do a full cleaning and vacuum after every ride.

Live in California? If one of your customers reeks of weed, so will your car. If you don't get that smell out before the next customer, you can count on them leaving you a bad review claiming YOU reek of weed.

My last roommate made about 8k a month working for Uber. The promotions add up.

Dont listen to all this FUD, uberlyft is a good job that can pay well if you put in 60 hrs a week

Really crunch the numbers, user. Your idea is not as lucrative as you think it is.

Leasing a terrible idea. If it's a product approved/endorsed by NADA then it's pure garbage.

At least do the car subscription service if you're gonna push the "I want to swap cars all the time" angle like a dumbfuck.

That might be true for your flyover, backwater shithole.
