Nearly half of San Francisco Bay Area voters plan to leave the region in the next few years, fed up with exorbitant housing costs and the long commutes caused by the lack of available homes near their workplaces.

Why the fuck do all these tech companies only exist in that region anyways? Spread them out across the country for fucks sake and the problem wouldn't be so bad

I hope SF becomes detroit 2.0

>not living in the most luxurious pod living known to man

As a bay area native born and raised here and currently working in tech, this is WELCOME news. Normies get out so I can finally afford a house

Is that a toilet seat?

that would be so awesome if sf had a mass exodus of rich tech ppl and it became a city for artists and hippies again

It's normal for certain industries to cluster in certain areas. News journalism in New york, acting in LA, auto in Detroit etc.

If you want to start a tech company, then you're going to want the best coders. It's easier to do that if you're in an area surrounded by them.

That's a bit of a catch 22 though, because the area is surrounded by the best coders due to all the tech companies attracting the best coders with promises of high wages and comfy daycare-tier work environments

It's always like this in San Francisco. People move here for a few years, get degrees, work experience, and wealth in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. And then they leave.

Detroit and San Francisco deserve each other
