My grandfather who was a second generation immigrant from Italy and just passed a week or two ago and he was always so full of life and tried to always make the best of any situation and his seemingly infinite desire to make everyone happy and comfortable was always admirable to me. He watched me a lot as a kid because his dying wife made him promise to on her deathbed because she wanted to do that. He made me fall in love with drawing and his love of life was what I imagined Italians to all be like. He was always very healthy and lived way longer than anyone thought, hell we used to joke that he was hiding the fountain of youth from us. Then one morning he was found just sitting down against his bed and had passed from probably his heart just stopping. Up till the last day tho he was driving, walking, talking laughing and full of life...

Sorry for the ramble but I felt like I always had a bit of a connection with Italian posters on here, they always seem to be the most down to earth and laid back, not trying to make everything a pissing contest and it reminded me of him. God I miss him.

It is nice to know we went peacefully. I'd love to learn Italian, he used to read an Italian to English dictionary in his spare time here and there and my family has always said little Italian saying, mainly swears lol. We're Marchigiano but my granfather was like latino so you got me there lol. Pic related was at the wake and is him getting married to his first wife.

He actually remarried after she died to a woman he met in a grieving group for people who lost their husband/wives and they were married for 12 years before she also died. Both from cancer, both before him. Guy embodied the Italian libido, always being a subtle but effective womanizer. I learned a lot from watching him lol.
