What went wrong?

Tried to compete with Airbus EU subsidies by cutting corners.

that's fucking stupid, someone should buy them all up cheap and remove the boeing avionics.

They stopped making good planes, actually, Americans stopped making good anything.

>mfw haven't been on a plane in years because I might get a panic attack but I wont know for sure until I get on a plane

>remove the boeing avionics
It doesn't work like that.

Are the EU subsidies to Airbus even that bad compared to the billions America pours into Boeing and Lockheed?

Skycages are still cages

Alcohol helps, especially once you’re in the air

Cost-cutting to maximize efficiency and profitability at the expense of safety. It seems to happen all the time now.

I'll buy one for 0.25 BTC.

I could drink before but I can't drink on the plane since I'm not 21 yet

If BAE committed to Airbus and kept their stocks they would have gotten 10 times their investment back but instead they chose to terminate the last British stake in commercial aircraft manufacturing, basically a foreshadowing of Brexit.

Yeah because Boeing does not receive subsidies from the US at all.

They were fucked, the a320neo was/is "perfect" and they couldn't make the same thing with the very old 737 design without ruining the aerodynamic.

I have no idea what you're referring to it "terminating the last British stake" - but the UK continues to produce aircraft components and I certainly won't take the choices of a private company as a foreshadowing of a democratic decision.

It wasn't the engines, it wasn't the software, it wasn't the training necessary for pilots, it wasn't even the cost of all the above

It was that they lied when it first came out and said that pilots didn't need additional training.
Pilots experienced an aggressive computer that was changing the steering on the plane and weren't informed about it, some of them got unlucky when they were fighting the "glitch" and killed everyone.

>cuts corners

Maybe with Embraer engineers they'll learn that you don't cut corners in aviation.

Eh, boing always bounces back.

Using a design from the 50s

DRUUUUUUUUUUMPF!......DO SOMETHING!....FORCE THEM TO BUY MY PLANES!

Is this thread about america?

Please guys buy our fucking planes. If Boeing goes down Amazon will be the only company in my state. Don't send me to the cages.

nigga just move to spokane lmao why tf you still living in everett/tacoma dawg just go east haha

Does anyone find it funny that when the HBO Chernobyl series aired every American was bragging about how such idiocy could never happen in America society or capitalism as a whole. Then Boeing happened, Trump tried throwing Ethiopia Airlines under the bus along with tweeting the planes were safe and refusing to ground them. Then Boeing admitted their planes were shit and every political right wing commentator blacklisted any coverage of the ongoing disaster investigation.

Outsourcing and HB1Ns.

The software was fine though. The design itself was flawed from the beginning due to legacy shit.

>sending outsourced material made for super low wages to the production line with no oversight or testing
>it's the foreigners' fault

everything

Hiring newbie indian coders

The software wasn't the problem.
