Is Frankfurt really that bad of a city?
I don't see it get much love here, but I doubt it can be that bad. I'm easily pleased, as long as there are cool bars and clubs where I can talk to qts, and good restaurants I would be happy. I don't need any place to be picturesque to like it.
Is Frankfurt really that bad of a city?
I'm from there :)
It's a great city, who says it's bad?
They say it's the most "diverse" city in germany, nuff said. Don't go there if you're a female
Get the fuck off Jow Forums you disgusting normie
I asked about it a few times on here and people keep saying it's boring. My bartender is from Ireland and he's did a fair amount of traveling in Europe (he's kind of a pleb though), he also said Frankfurt is boring. But I don't trust them!
How is the nightlife scene?
For an American it's pretty normal I guess. For me it's an absolute shithole.
this isn't Jow Forums you trappist faggot
I'm from the US, it will probably be the most white people I've ever seen at once.
I actually think Frankfurt is very cosmopolitan, as I'm sure you know it is both a finance city and has many immigrants. I wouldn't say it's boring at all!
is it dominated by finance bros, or are there bars I can go with a more alternative crowd?
Let me give you an honest opinion.
Frankfurt is fine if you're there on a business trip. It completely caters to the business crowd. If you don't fit that description everything else is run down shitty and full of druggies.
At least in Berlin you get some nice places to go out on top of the druggies.
So there aren't dive bars and non pretentious clubs?
There are universities in Frankfurt, so I am pretty sure you will find plenty of alternative people.
That's good then. I'm not talking about mega weirdos necessarily, just people who aren't boring stuck up normies.
I'm going to Berlin this year and trying to see more of Germany next year (we get direct flights from New York only to Frankfurt and Berlin if I'm not mistaken). I was thinking about maybe going to Frankfurt for a few days, then somewhere in Baden Wurttemberg. Freiberg seems to be the city everyone recommends, which looks very nice. But Stuttgart is closer, however it doesn't seem to be a popular city on here either.
Yes, finance does not "dominate" Frankfurt. Personally I am an engineer who went to university in Frankfurt and I never felt like there lacked areas for me. It's a "big" city, it's not a problem to find people of all types.
I would not listen to the guy with the honest opinion. I think he is just a hater..
You should be your own judge. I used to live in Stuttgart and I did not really like it, but everybody has a different experience anyways, so who knows what you will like and what not. I would recommend that you visit both bigger cities like Berlin as well as smaller towns like Freiburg or Heidelberg, so that you get a varied experience. Rural Germany can also be nice if you are into that.
I do like rural areas in small doses, but they're tougher to get around.
I think you get a better perspective if you've lived there for some time like you have.
It's shit, just as its people. It's one of the few cities in Germany I really hate.
Let me guess, you also hate Berlin?
No, I like Berlin. There are bad things to say about Berlin, but unlike Frankfurt Berlin is a very exiting place with plenty of nice people. Frankfurt is full of potential terrorists.
Don't limit yourself by places you can fly to. If you fly in to Frankfurt you're at most a 3 hours train ride from basically anywhere in Germany. And trains depart from the airport.
I think up to a two hour train ride is pretty doable, in terms of not taking up too much time in travel. When I go to Berlin for a week this year, I might spend a day in Hamburg.
Yes
Go to Offenback instead. A lovely small City thats only a few minutes away from FFM
Frankfurt isn’t that bad.
I wouldn’t wanna live there but it’s not awful. Has many good restaurants, decent nightlife I guess. It’s not really a tourist city imo. It has the airport and that’s that.
Too many brownskins.
Also everything was bombed to bits thanks to the Anglo menace so there’s not much sightseeing to do.
Two nights is the absolute maximum I’d recommend a tourist to stay there, it’s a very small city and easily walkable so if you wanted to see everything in one day you could.
All the druggies are maintained to the train station area. They do their own thing, don’t bother them and they won’t bother you. Also loads of drug selling Nafris who will approach you in broad daylight.
But it’s generally safe, don’t try to start shit and nobody will mess with you. Even the red light district at night isn’t the death trap as many would like you to believe. That’s bad for business so the brothel owners know how to keep it down. So if you want to go home with the novelty of having fucked an ugly Caribbean whore for 30€ you could also do that..
The bad districts outside of that are the ones a tourist wouldn’t go to anyway so no need to worry about that.
*contained
>be my sisters
>get off the ICE train at Frankfurt/Main Central
>first thing they see is a druggie asking if they want crack
If you go there for anything but the airport I pit yyyou
Soulless husk of a once important city filled with with filthy rich bankers and an underclass that would you a whole if it wasn’t for the understaffed and underfunded police
