31 year old boomer here. i don't really understand it, either. i like that you can play with up to 100 people in a single game, but only having one life and no respawns sucks. i end up spending half the time waiting to find another match.

Does anyone else find it weird that Zoomer cartoons has less detail in it? Even with computer tools the graphical fidelity of Western cartoons is dropping dramatically. I think the most recent release of Samurai Jack revealed the gap between 90s hand drawn and zoomer shlop. The artist involved in Samurai Jack were classically trained and used the tools properly to assist them. The current Zoomer trash Calarts shit has no life in it.

SQUAD is probably the single most intense game I've ever played - the only other game I've played which captures a similar level of realistic anxiety was Red Orchestra: Ostfront. Exchanging fire with the enemy will give you serious PTSD. Would recommend for anyone looking for a non-casual experience.

This game is pretty shit though. Just by stocking up on wood you can negate any solo enemy push or flank. I’ve literally had the jump on someone completely unaware that I was there, only to have him insta build a fort around himself and run around like a clown building for 45 seconds until backup arrives. It’s probably the lowest skill “shooter” I’ve seen in a while, in that you can be ass at aiming but just build to safety until someone else kills your targets

I'm actually working on a 2D retro style MMO exactly like this. Medieval themed, open world PvP, competition for resources, you can build houses/towers/defenses etc anywhere, and the in-game gold is a cryptocurrency that you would be able to send outside of the game to exchanges. It's being built in Node.js so currently looking for developers to help with the project.

This, it's the new minecraft, because Minecraft was ruined by Microsoft. It's got everything kids love - cartoony graphics, insta-rewards everywhere, low risk, high-twitch action, and no blood or gore so parents don't freak out.

Plus, the part of the game that's popular is free.

The game does have some good points, it's got a low investment for playtime, matches are quick, and it's got the collectibles system for the OCD and showoffs. It's the culmination of years of autism coming together in one game that ticks off all the items. It even has boobs, even though that's more downplayed than other games, because so many young kids are obsessed with it.

I know a couple of streams that play with viewers that had to ban kids younger than 12, because these little pip squeak retards would get on mic and start screaming 'Motherfucker" and "Nigger".

My zoomer cousin born in 00 plays Japanese games. He showed me a lot of newer Nintendo stuff (Wii/Wii U and beyond) and it is still pretty solid.

The bulk of new western games seem to be for a totally different audience. Indie games were promising for a short while, but it opened up a whole new can of worms (depression quest kek).
