Kraków is a village comparing to Wrocław or Poznań. I have no idea why people choose it. Yes, it's the only 'original' big city in Poland, without war damages, but still it wasn't a big city in 19th century so its architecture is not really impressing.

Overall it is, but only after Poznań and Wrocław. Gdańsk was the second most destroyed after WW2 city in Poland and comparing to Warsaw little was rebuilt, basically only the very central part of the Old Town (and it was done in a less meticulous way than in Warsaw), so Gdańsk has vast empty spaces in the centre. Also its infrastructure is rather poorly maintained.

Poles like it because it's at the sea, air is clean etc. but for a person from a country at the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea won't be impressive.

First of all, there are veery few Jews in Kraków. Secondly, there would be no Rzeczpospolita without Jews, they contributed a lot to the culture and economy of the country. Most of these cute buildings in cities were built by them.

If I were you I'd take a trip like:

Kraków -> Wrocław -> Poznań -> Toruń -> Bydgoszcz -> Gdańsk

And Poznań is definitely the best to live, the lowest unemployment, high wages, relatively low living costs, literally a paradise.
