Greetings from asbury park, born to run, and darkness on the edge of town are good albums. There are plenty of other good artists though. Those are great records but he doesn’t hold up to Chicago, Zappa, Jethro Tull etc

Do any of you have a song that your parents played a lot for you when you were very little?

Christ no wonder I forgot it. It’s painfully boring and generic. Not remembering it is the natural thing to have done when you moved on to such

That’s a good one

>It’s painfully boring and generic.

It quite literally is. If there was a catalog of all songs listing their chord progressions, instrument selection, meter, etc that song’s arrangement would show up several dozen times over with plenty of preceding examples. It’s the kind of thing someone learns when they first start playing guitar. None of this takes away from greetings from asbury park and born to run being great of course.

>I listen to springsteen songs for complex chord progression

WEW

Nice strawman argument. You have yet to say literally anything intelligible.

what do I need to say? None of the songs on born to run or asbury park have advanced progressions either

I've listened to it like twice in the last year

The chord progression of that song was just one example about it. My opinion was I find the whole thing generic and boring overall.

Though depending on your definition of ‘advanced’ that isn’t the case. Jungleland for example modulates key and tempo multiple times and is in my opinion a masterpiece. It’s even primed by meeting across the river leading into it.
