There were little to no population reductions during revolutions themselves. The revolutionary waves during 1920s were quite bloodless compared to nationalist "socialist" wars and purges that came later on that restored private ownership of land in Russia with Stalin. Population deduction through purges is going to backfire at long term as baby boom is inevitable after warfare. I am not sure how do i feel about abortions. It's a good thing, because of a child killing. But it's bad thing, because it's gives women a choice.
