Fucking shit, famalam. I meant to stream this weekend. Oh well. Got referred to Facebook by some chick from Harvard instead. Not even joking. Guess the weekend wasn't a total loss.
Burger here. Which is better for day and swing trading stocks? Interactive Brokers or Robinhood+TradingView?
Portfolio for trading is roughly $100k if that makes a difference. Thanks /smg/
Dominic Thompson
scoops, I just started getting into ML seriously. Colab from google with the free gpu is pretty amazing to learn with.
AGI within 1 year is my estimate still.

Read the OP, it already mentions the pros and cons right fucking there. IIRC Robinhood doesn't like day trading more than 3 days in 5 business days unless you're 25k+ and/or on a cash account. I see you're ready to lose 100k, so just go with Robinhood. And stay away from options until you have an idea of what the fuck to trade and how. When you're tired of losing try pic related and forget about it for about 5 years.
Read the OP plenty of times. I was asking if using TradingView to supplement Robinhood, despite no level 2 or time and sales data, is still worth the lack of fees. So is it? Or is the IB trading platform so good (and thr slippage on Robinhood so terrible) it's worth the fees in ways TradingView and Robinhood together couldn't make up for?
Only (stupid) reason I'm leaning towards IB at all is because I want to trade Forex and it's the only broker I know with USD/KRW pair. Yeah the 25k pattern day trading limit isn't a problem. I'm testing this out with 100k and if goes well I'll start moving in more.
Eli Flores
join the discord and have a word with me before you make a single trade. you will be ever grateful that you did.
Jacob Cox
why forex? and if you can afford it then go on to ibroker if you need that data
Ok I will as soon as I get home. Might not be for a while but I will, thanks. Ibroker meaning Interactive Brokers, yes? I've been watching the USD/KRW for like 9 months now and have transferred a few hundred thousand dollars in and out of it a few times usually through crypto but sometimes even with regular banks and a huge (1.1%) spread but I'm still profitable on this because I live in South Korea and read the news here. Anyway my reason for choosing Forex is that I thought I could apply the sort of technical indicators that were useful with crypto and macroeconomics to learn this field. With stocks there's so many choices to choose from but with Forex I was hoping to develop a routine for myself and stick to it.
That being said I'm interested in jumoing into stocks too but cautiously.
>want to sell some ridiculously good looking $CRM put options >too afraid some freak flash crash bullshit might happen the week i do it
i hate this feel. being obligated to for 100 shares is a ridiculous concept.
Robert Rogers
Yes, interactive brokers. >I live in South Korea and read the news here. Fucking cool. Do you have pictures of the giant crowds sometime back when it was revealed the government was being run by a fucking cult? Anyway stick with what looks like a winning strategy for you and don't deviate from it. Otherwise you end up like comfy.
if you wanna get paid to do something you're not going to do it on a service that's not entirely of your making i wouldn't huck water to people from the sidewalk, I'd sell water to them from my waterstore; and deliver water to their door with my websites you're using fucking discord you nigger, be more professional
I'm going to pick up some shitty laptops tomorrow to tinker with IRC; need to figure out some isp shit to see if they'll yell at me for exercising my human right of creation

Jeremiah James

Noah Allen
>I'm going to pick up some shitty laptops tomorrow to tinker with IRC oh boy here we go you're gonna buy a thinkpad and end up ricing it into something like this enjoy your gains and never look back, regret is for the weak
Seems to be undervalued. Showing signs of growth in the past days.

Investing in an ETF is only useful for securing a pension, right?
Colton Roberts
Are you smart enough to beat the market? No. Invest in an index etf

srsly id like to see some of these peoples stock history.
everytime i think about "oh weeds def going up ill just buy a fatty call and be rich" or "lol short stock because its at a peak now and has to go down soon" then i seriously think about it and its impossible to truly know whether it will move up or down. theres millions of variables. its so hard to get an edge when everyone knows everything instantly.
i remember hearing Jim Cramer talking about how he literally calls up managers of companies to help make his decisions, and all im thinking is "soooo insider trading?"
only thing i feel safe doing is buying and holding some established or growing stocks that pay dividends. the old man buffet strategy lol.
Blake Morgan
Fuck you Jow Forums this is just a meltup. My gold will moon 5x soon.
I feel Buffett-sama is someone with a great understanding of businesses. He is of course intelligent and I think he has the "thing", a kind of gut feeling
Matthew Russell
Merci >and all im thinking is "soooo insider trading?" Insider trading only happen when you have a stake in the decision that leads to the stock price to change IIRC. I only invest in companies I have former classmate working at so I can get some info on how it's going inside.
Justin Evans
even with positive earnings reports, some companies will drop right after. its fucking insanity dude. i might as well go back to bitcoin at this point. at least that was consistent expected insanity.
Daniel Collins
>AMD +2.59% on premarket..
Guys when it will stop??
Nolan Perry
When the buying pressure levels. Then profit taking commences.
Earning beat is a past event. You earn money by being right about the future. SP drops because of poor guidance and overly optimistic expectations by the market.
A stock can drop heavily iff too much expectation has been priced in. Look at AAXN at Q218. It is a fantastic company which I feel will have the monopoly of the body cam market within the anglo civil armed forces. The SP dropped because their guidance was rather conservative and despite the beat.
A good investor should have an idea of how much has been priced in before buying a stock.
Jack Thompson
>the anglo civil armed forces.
wtf ami i reading
Camden Lee
I mean the police forces of the anglo world (US UK NZ Oz etc)
Jaxon Parker
My nan is going to give me £1000 and I'd like to get some stocks to hold until retirement and get some decent dividends, obviously buying more than these along the way. Do these look good or am I being a brainlet?
That's not what Buffet does. You value a company, you understand it so well, it's business and it's management and you look at the market price. If it's undervalued you buy it. You hold it for as long as it is undervalued until the market finds the right price, the price you know. It's buying a dollar for 90 cents then selling the dollar for $1.20. Its not a get rich quick way, it takes years and years of research and holding a few stocks as you shouldn't need to diversify.
Ian Diaz
k den. at this point i might as well just start gambling. $MU earnings and $CRM earnings both looking good coming up.
buffet said himself he got in early on good companies and then the dividends did the rest of the work.
Justin Moore
Does anyone here look like a fortune teller? Do your own research, find out what will last the test of time. If you buy something that you don't understand it's value, you aren't investing you are gambling
Liam Sanchez
>it's undervalued It should be understood as "undervalued when compared to the potential you see in the company in the long term"
An example ATVI is an expensive stock. But I think you should buy it on any dip because I believe they will be even bigger in the future. Btw, there will probably a dip today because of the mass shooting. That could be a nice entry point.
Noah Rodriguez
There's no point on trying to time the market if the company is inherently a good buy. It's purely a psychological impact. You should buy when you know it to be good. Of course he got in good companies. That's exactly what I just said he did?
Landon Thompson
True But I only buy stocks on red days :^)
Benjamin Ramirez
Based sheep
Brayden Campbell
he doesnt understand you push the market into much higher focus on your stock if u just buy at whatever price, he only acts on greed like some street hustler.
Josiah Walker
I already got a design in the books for something that fixes NN learning problems. Will require low training input to achieve great results. Will have it done by end of sept.
It's remarkably simple.
Brandon King
Since I cant slreep tonight
I'll give a few hints as to how it works.
2 Systems instead of one Based off lessons from getting things to polynomial time Is extremely obvious if you think about it, has to do with one NN use being able to test another easily. Just putting them in one solves it.
Camden Lewis
Whenever I use a strategy on trading view, it's just blank. Why doesn't it do anything?
Leo Carter
Also the point of highest complexity is the output layer.
Aaron Butler
I've tried adding a bunch of different strategy things in but they are all blank.
