The third industrial revolution

youtube.com/watch?v=QX3M8Ka9vUA

Really a must watch interview about our current environmental situation and the coming sharing economy that will have great affect on it. Also he brings up a lot of informative points about the industries that are decentralizing at enormous speeds.

After watching this I really think that short-term (10-15 years), projects like powerledger and IOTA will provide the first functions of the global sharing economy.

Anyone seen this presentation and agrees? also, what other parts of our economy show signs of changing to this sharing form of no marginal profit and high efficiency?

This shit got me interested.

IOTA will replace blockchain

It's a little bit of a meme with electric scooters and airbnb and whatever, but it's obviously getting big in a meaningful way.

Next up: internet sharing via Skycoin's Skywire.

Bike sharing in the netherlands is awesome though, just scan the QR, bike unlocks and there is always one near. Most I ever had to walk was 150m. This already works in big and medium sized cities.

Agreed, they just released the same in my city and I should go try it. Can't wait for self driving orderable taxis.

probably. I should probably buy more...

Unfortunately skycoin has no consensus algo so can't even be considered a working crypto

Is IOTA far ahead of its competitors?

The consensus algo is in the whitepaper. It just hasn't been built yet since it works off the physical hardware nodes, which have only been in testing for the past three months.

it's cool for tourists but why not just buy a fucking bike

"The whitepaper" has been withdrawn with no replacement.
Skycoin has no consensus algo.

You don't have to worry about parking it safely and maintenance.
I don't know how it is in the netherlands but in my country rentable bikes sucks, only 5 planetary gears which makes them heavy and horrible uphill. They are also made to be sturdy which makes them even heavier.

skycoin.net/downloads
Literally on the website.

Its literally withdrawn from the journal it was published in

Because it gets stolen and when it breaks down you instantly get a replacement car bringing you a new bike. Shared bikes are tracked and are never stolen. Oh and it costs like 5 euros a month. It is used by everyone, not only tourists.

True, they found an improvement that that rewrites a few components to how it works. It'll be republished once they finish patenting it.

In terms of working with governmental bodies, yes.

I could imagine that the sharing economy requires a transparant and shared governance model as well? Any big player doing this?

yeah, really great!
In vienna they have many stations :)

Holy shit what are houses and cars going to cost if you don't want to share everything?!

Then the chinese (or taiwanese) tried it xD
They just put all kinds of bikes all over the city. They were clogging traffic, many have landed in the rivers and canals. Broken ones didn't got picked up.
Now they are banned. Pic related.

If you do it, do it right, anons!

In the netherlands the bikes are not necessarily stationed, they can be dropped and picked up anywhere. Is that the same in vienna?

No they didnt. More lies.
Screencap this:
skycoin will never have a working consensus algo.

>they can be dropped and picked up anywhere
what? how does that prevent theft?

not anymore xD
maybe some business guy from the netherlands can do a better job. Vienna has banned those chinese companies.

Yeah, I'm more of a fan of the electric scooters, less space.

Plus my city isn't nearly as big so maybe a few hundred won't be an issue.

I mean, other projects copycat Skycoin left and right, just look at holo. Shills only want to apply pressure on them to release the improved version so they can try to copycat that too.

theft??

Not everything has to be shared, I doubt house sharing will be one of the shared things. But why would you want to own a car if your transport can be cheaper, more reliable and quicker as a result of less traffic. Guy in the presentation makes a point about removing 15 cars for every 1 shared car, which might be a little optimistic but you get the point. Of course if you want to drive a pretty car I would understand it, but society is moving away from consumerism so there is that. It won't happen overnight but the norm will change.

>Not everything has to
you mom has

It doesn't, but having a tracker in the frame does. Vandalism isn't that big of an issue here. Apparantly the model works as well, it has been in place for a couple of years and is getting bigger and bigger.

well these bikes are obviously worth something, I don't know how it turned out like that in China.
Pic is how bike renting looks like in my city

yeah, it's the same in vienna.
These photos are from vienna too. It was an asian company, not IN asia. In vienna.

I don't know how cities work t.bh

I'd be willing to ride a bike around if it didn't look like those fagmobiles. Do you have a bell to go with your Granny cruiser gayboy?

>been in place for a couple of years and is getting bigger and bigger.
... and bigger

>been in place for a couple of years and is getting bigger and bigger
... and bigger, and bigger

nobody thinks about it like that here, so it's not an issue. You have to be really insecure to think like that
wtf. Why don't they sell them? I would buy one for €10, why not

hehe okay this is actually quite funny, probably won't work in shitholes

ergo: anons, don't let chinese take foot into your country with a car / bike sharing business.
Do it yourselves, and do it right -.-

> 5 euros a month.
I want to add that in vienna it's free. For one hour at least.
The next hour costs like 3 EUR?
And you can lock that bike with a key. Many tourists don't even know it's free. Free. you know?
I'll leave you with that.
Also, that progression makes me laugh so hard, maybe because I've lived to see it. So funny.
