Why aren't you a doctor, user?

> practically guaranteed $220k+ income
> the biggest hurdle is getting into med school, which really isn't hard if you aren't a fuckup alcoholic in college
> plenty of interresting and exciting fields. there is something for everyone
> get to do/see some wild shit, everyone wants to hear your stories
> high social status will pull mad respect and fine honeys
> sky is the limit in terms of income. Employed cardiologists and surgeons can pull >1/2 million SALARY, private practice can earn over a million, gateway to top level administration with even bigger incomes
> maximum job security. the business comes to you
wtf are you waiting for? all you need is a 3.7 gpa and 510 MCAT

> inb4 "i dont want to work a million hours"
there are plenty of fields where you can work normal 8-5 hours and some even take fridays off. some radiologists work from home and can do their work from anywhere with an internet connection

Actual medical school is way harder than just getting into medical school, unless you study in the fucking bahamas lol

ok but only like 50% of applicants get into medschool whereas almost nobody fails out of medschool. Once you get in you are basicallly guaranteed to become a doctor unless you decide to quit. Getting into medschool is by far the greatest bottleneck

i trade crypto and make 1million + / year in a bear market fuck digging around in old fat women, crypto is the future and crypto investors will be the new gods

thats how they get you witha shitty 200k saary and spreading lies for it but you have authority because you a fucking doctor

> For the most recent class (2009–2010
matriculants), 81 percent2 of the
M.D.-only students had graduated by
the spring of 2013, reflecting the lowest
four-year graduation rate of any class
to date. The five-year graduation rate
has fallen less dramatically from 97 to
94 percent, and the eight-year graduation
rate from 98 to about 97 percent.

97% graduation rate. many of those in the 3% dropped out for non-academic reasons. The completion rate isn't even that high for a fucking fun-run 5k

> plenty of interresting and exciting fields. there is something for everyone
I don't understand what this means. My dad was a doctor and I always hated his coworkers and that kind of environment. Won't argue they can make money. I spent a year and a half on signal processing for EMGs and it was the same shit I always did.

>not hard to get in.
Having to compete with chinks and pajeets that are beaten daily and forced to study 23 hours a day by their parents for a spot in med school.

Yeah not hard at all

I considered it and then realize that a Medicare crisis would happen while I was in my prime and physician salaries are at significant risks. Aging societies like Germany and Japan tend to pass on the costs of the elderly to practitioners and don’t pay doctors very well. Decided to work in finance instead.

you don't have to compete against asians bbecause they are absolutely fucked by affirmative action aamc.org/data/facts/applicantmatriculant/157998/factstablea24.html
You are literally only competing against your "white race" fratbro binge-drinking classmates, most of whom'st give up after freshman bio

you can easily get a 3.7 gpa and 510 MCAT if you arent a total "college experience" retard.

Those fucking admissions essays are torture though. Tell me about your feelings!!!!

Do dentistry instead, same money but no residency unless you specialize

I am in medschool user, I see crypto as an hedge in case muh automation and muh AI replace me in the future, so that no matter what happens I'm guaranteed to make it, and my work will actually be fulfilling and useful and not some kind of wageslaving for an absurdly wealthy dude.
Also you're right about the hours, I've got a friend who is an anesthetist and he works 20 hours a week for around 200k a year.

>muh automation and muh AI replace me in the future
we can't even get computers to read EKGs as accurately as cardiologists. There are still people working at fast food restaurants. Doctors aren't getting replaced by machines anytime soon. You'd need a meme understanding of what physicians do to think they could easily be replaced by robots

Already am a lawyer and getting an MS in CS to be a "tech lawyer" meme.

If I could do it again I might have gotten an MD, but I fucked around in college because depression also i didn't want the responsibility of having someone's life in my hand

>200k income that all goes to pay off loans

this. the long school + loans means you're pushing 40 years old before you can start living. the only reasonable doctor job is pharmacist. high pay and your life isn't completely wasted.

but STEM is still a much better option. lower pay but you get to live your life, work from home, and won't be unemployed when the medicare/insurance company racket finally comes home to roost.

Pharmacy will be automated brainlet

Yeah, I was thinking about it A LOT but decided to do CS instead. Not sure if I made the right choice. CS is kinda memey these days, would've been way easier to get a job as a doctor I guess. But also being a doctor is way more stressful I guess, especially something like a surgeon. Fuck that shit. Oh well, way too late now.

retail pharmacy will be faggot. real pharmacists work in hospitals alongside doctors and tailor the prescriptions and dosages to each patient.

Anyone who becomes a doctor for the money is delusional. You are basically making 40-50k until you hit age 35, and the entire time working 60 to 80 hour weeks, and dealing with lots of stress as a resident from both doctors and patients.

Because doctors are in business to cheat death, and cheating death keeps me in this prison.

>being a doctor just for the money and not because you want to help people
>spreading lies and making the society sicker
>believing in your own lies

Engineers usually put in at least 10 to 12 hour days. Salaried.

I don't want to spend another ten years in school and end up with six figure debt for a soul draining job that's going to make me want to kill myself.
