How to budget for taxes as a foiregner?

Hey guys, I'll be moving to Argentina at the beginning of next year, and am planning a budget.

So far, I can cover utilities, rent, and groceries ok, but I can't figure out the taxes over there without actually talking to an Argie accountant, which I don't know.

Do argies really pay this much taxes?

If so, my whole budget is completely out of the water.

I'll be moving from another country and be using my savings and family stipends, so I won't be earning in Pesos as well.

Also, does anyone know the rate/percentage of money that stays with the bank when wiring from another country? Whats the best way to do it, considering I'll be there for a 1+, so no international credit cards or PayPal and stuff.

so, where are you from and why exactly do you want to move to Argentina? just curious (im from buenos aires)

>I won't be earning in Pesos as well.
If you won't be earning money in Argentina why would you have to worry about taxes?

I think this is an exchange student thats leaving his country for the first time and is preparing for a journey of life
Use money gram, western union for transfers, or unironically cryptocurrency if you have somewhere to cash out in Argentina for money transfers

Taxes in arg are a bitch.
Every buy you place has a 21% added value known as IVA, additional value tax. For mobile services it jumps to 28%
Salay has a monthly 17% retention when under a certain amount hard to calculate that is roughly as today currency exchange, 1150 usd. So if you make a gross income per month of 1200 usd, you'll get a net of 1020~ ish minus that additional tax known as "impuesto a la riqueza" that is basically an additional 5-25% dependi g on how much you make vs how many social charges you have.
If you are going to be working without a "relacion de dependencia" job, you will have to become a "monotributista", that means you pay your own tax based on how much you want to be able to bill (gross income, not earnings) per year and pay each month based off that. It is around 20-25% of your yearly income, not a fixed scale, depends on your income.

Bottomline. I would heftly suggest you to move to either Uruguay or Brasil. We just had a 10% net devaluation in 6 hours today.
Good luck, have fun

>Moving to Argentina just when they're about to crash their economy to the ground yet again while having the most retarded social crisis ever witnessed in human history
Come home retard man

That's something that I haven't really figured, and what I wanted to ask.

I'm a retiree from Brazil that will be living off properties, my family will wire me the money via TransferWise (after checking out bank rates and stuff, we figured this was the safest/cheapest option).

I've talked with two different argies that told me that I have to pay taxes even if I don't have income because I'll have a bank account with Pesos on it. So, that is taxed? I'm not really sure of the exact or even approximate amount.

Also this taxes you mentioned are imbued with the price of things? Or are they like in USA, where you have to add upon the total price in your head?

What about like, unemployed or self-employed? I guess what I'm asking is if I have to declare money if I'm officially unemployed, even if I have money.

Any help?

Yes, it is included in the final peice of things. And yes, there is commission for the bank account, the exchange rate will fuck you up and most likely you will pay some degree of income tax at some point, otherwise the afip will fuck you over because Reales are real money lol.
Unemployed or self employes are monotributo as I told you about. They allow you to have declared "income" up to a certain pesos amount. It is severely behind the inflation rate and expensive as fuck.
In all honesty friendo, don't come here. Ig you are gonna retire, go to Uruguay and just travel via buquebus to buenos aires whenever you feel like party or whatever. Argentina, as time has proven over and over, is a cyclic shithole where people come to suffer hefty monetary losses, and dreams come to die.

I’m just really looking for a safer, quieter place than Brazil. Uruguay is terribly expensive.

Thanks for the infos, tho.

In here, what’s the difference between gross income and earnings? Sorry if it’s a retarded question.

Uruguay is maybe 10% more expensive, at best. We are terribly expensive too. I suspect you must only know about argentina superficially due to that comparison... In all honesty, Argentina is not safer than Brazil, least of all buenos aires or other big cities. And if you are not going to be in a big city, then why not just move to a safer place in Brazil?
Safer and quieter is precisely what UYU is, so why not go there? Its a better life for retirement at any rate.
Regarding your question, I am unsure, but I dont believe non-worked income (such as pensions for example) are tax free when it comes from abroad. You can always check with an accountant to be certain about this, but I think you will get charged and screwed over with the money exchange rate against the bank.

Half of my budget didn’t even cover rent in Uruguay. I heard they were similarly prices in the past, but I now I think there’s a gap in prices between Argentina and Uruguay.

I’ve heard about the up in crimes, robberies and break ins in and around BA, La Plata and big city centers. I’ll be moving to Tierra Del Fuego, where I heard things are relatively quiet.

Thanks for the infos regarding taxes. I don’t know if you’re the same user as , but I was budgeting today and caught the crazy devaluation today. I wanted to ask what it means for locals and the daily life of people, as I get it impacts argies trying to import stuff, and people buying Pesos like myself, but what about ordinary people?

Why is s America so insistent that socialism will work? I'm not even muricunt, I'm in the UK, but watching this shit is sad

Latin Americans are retarded people do not look for more explanation

What are you talking about?
