Yes. Nautical school outside if Europe are not look with good eyes tho. So even if u finish thr school as a second official i would advice to work a year atleast ad a sailor. I fished in the northern sea and i made like 6k month but its agony.
The sailor life is not what it used to be, its only work and protocols. I would advice in finding a job as pilot on some Harbour after 5 years of see.
Norway is fishing coad or petroleum, i advice Netherlands first then Germany. Avoid France and UK

We have a school built by Austro-Hungarians in my city so we get a more prestigious title ("nautical technician") than in other nautical schools in my country, also going on ships is the only way to earn more than 300€ per month and there is a strong nautical heritage in my city so 80% of men go or try to go there

All they require are 6 months of sailing as a recruit and then they allow you to do tests for an officer. After you sail as an officer for 6 months than you can do tests for a captain. And the tests are easy since they teach you everything during those 4 years. Also every proffesor (besides classes like math) were captains before.

6 months per officer is what i meant, i just worded it poorly. 6 months as 3rd, you come back and do the tests for 2nd. Then 6 months as a 2nd and you come back and do the tests for 1st. Then you sail for 6 months as 1st and then you come back and do the tests for the captain. 6 months is the minimum as one position before you can advance further

So its 2 years of experience, but since its impossible to find ships in the mediterranian that sail for only since 6 months, but instead for 9 or 12, it would realistically take you 3-4 years before you become a captain. Thats why i want to go to the north sea instead to try to speed up the process of becoming a captain
