>...publicly traded companies based in the state will need to have at least one woman on their boards by the end of next year and, on boards of five or more directors, two or three women by the end of 2021, depending on the board’s size. Those that don’t would face financial penalties.
>“One-fourth of California’s publicly traded companies still do not have a single woman on their board, despite numerous independent studies that show companies with women on their board are more profitable and productive,” said state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson
So at what point does California just eventually take control of all businesses? They're forcing you to do what they feel is "for your own good." What the fuck is wrong with this state?
>inb4 they just hire pretty women who have signed NDAs
>publicly traded companies based in the state So they simply say their new york office is the HQ and can get around it?
Seems like this will have 0 effect on FAANG type companies who already have female board directors, or are big enough to put their headquarters wherever the fuck they want.
I suppose this will affect startups based in California, but what woman would want to be on the board of directors for a startup earning less than $2m a year?

They did the exact same thing in South Africa, where the majority of board members have to be kaffirs. Guess how well that turned out.
Juan Jenkins
they're trying to apply keynesianism to society now
just like how politicians use government intervention to solve "issues" that they see, ie economy is slow > spend more, niggers are poor > give them welfare, rent is high > rent control, farmers not making enough > farm subsidies. Every single one of these policies has some kind of side effect, blowback, similar to medicine that you take when you have a disease. it may solve the symptoms temporarily but it causes another issue to arise somewhere else
they are doing the same with society now. women not making as much as men > government mandated female board members. women get raped > government mandated sexual consent contracts. it goes on and on and on. no foresight into the possible inefficiences of such policies, no thinking about the future consequesnces whatsoever. as long as MUH EQUALITY is reached the world is a utopia in their eyes
So the majority do have females but this is not enough? When will this insane gynocentricism end?
Chase Sanchez
One, the definition of "woman" in Current Year is "anyone who says they are a woman".
Two, even if it were true that holes make a company more profitable and efficient, since when is it the government's job to enforce profit increases? I'd like to think that this is too dumb for even commiefornia to pass, but they probably take that as a challenge.
Fuck this shit makes my blood boil. I run a small business, it's just myself so doesn't totally apply but still. I don't need a single fucking person forcefucking me into hiring ANYBODY I don't want, much less a woman when I've never met a single woman I'd trust with any part of my company.

The west is really falling apart eh?

What a joke

Absolute cancer

>sexual consent contract Bong here. Is this a thing in the US?
What about companies who don't have any men on their boards?
Bentley Cruz
>So at what point does California just eventually take control of all businesses?
Muh slippery slope fallacy.
Aaron Cooper
It isn't a fallacy if California is on a waterslide.
Kevin Nelson
it's literally retarded to be incorporated in CA. the cost and taxes are nuts. it's the most hostile state to doing business in the nation.
The shame about this is that it will primarily hurt small businesses. Most large corporations are incorporated in delaware anyway.
Eli Campbell
I will only somewhat enjoy the future collapse of California, because the virus destroying the state (spics and Democrats) will just relocate to the rest of the country and continue killing the future in exchange for welfare.
>“One-fourth of California’s publicly traded companies still do not have a single woman on their board, despite numerous independent studies that show companies with women on their board are more profitable and productive,” said state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson It's too bad the people running those big successful companies don't know jack shit about management and they're all too arrogant to listen to the advice of these brilliant well-intentioned "independent" studiers.
Christian Morris
In California, yes.

> tfw family is 7th generation Californian > tfw my parents are the last ones left living there and even they are trying to move now
This fucking nanny state. Plastic bags are illegal. PLASTIC STRAWS are even illegal in some counties. All of these fuckers moved here because of the based weather and now they're fucking it all up. Fucking hell
