Idk about this, but I have seen considerable improvement in the quality of life in my hometown in the last 10 years.

What things have been changing?

Infrastructure and wages mostly. There were barely any malls there 8 years ago and now the city is full of them.

It requires money derived from tax revenues generated from freer markets. The government only needs to sign off on projects that the market wouldn't find profitable in the interim.
The manufacturing in China is done by Chinese companies and they've always been producing things on their own. Even if they might, for the time being, have been cheap knock offs. Can anyone say the same about India? Besides, nobody will ever be able to get something like China's forced joint ventures going with international firms ever again.
If certain banks are being weighed down by corporate debt, the government shouldn't be forced to subsidize them through ownership. They're not leveraging mergers either and they're sacrificing efficiency.

The interest rate and debt ratio shows amazing growth.

The reason consumption is down is very simple: India's growth seems to be happening in a very weird way.

States like Maharasthra and Karnataka are growing at South Korea/Japan during the 70s tier rates:
they're literally recording 17-20% GDP growth at current prices and 10-15% at constant prices.

Whereas Bihar and uttar Pradesh are growing at 5-6% at CURRENT prices i.e. are recording near zero growth post inflation.

India will have huge regional inequalities in a few years.

This shows up horribly in consumption but their GDP numbers are right.

Its just that in a decade, the Western, Southern and Northern parts of the country will look like Poland or Hungary, meanwhile the North East will look like Africa.

This will cause MASSIVE problems.

I expect India to split in two due to this, not now but in the future.

If the US government doesn't change tax policy and budget revenues grow by a certain % and international exchange rates deem a certain value for the dollar, then GDP growth in the US can be easily ascertained (pre deficit) that + deficit growth = GDP growth.

India's horrible healthcare system and lack of a social security system avoids the concern you'd normally have about an ageing population as well: dependents aren't a negative for India, overpopulating youngsters reduce per capita income.

Increase dependent population = increase consumption +++ increased prodcutivity from the demographic dividend.
