It's in close proximity to numerous national parks, state parks, historical sites, museums, has great food, there's all sorts of places to go out and be in nature, and the cost of living is really low. It has more interesting things to do than most bigger cities.

It depends on what your perspective of "nice" really is. Yeah, the cost is low but you can't really go outside for most of the year, and you have to pay much more for AC.
I think you're just perplexed by the massive amount of sunshine and think it's amazing because of it. It gets really old long term trust me. Or you like to LARP like a cowboy like you're in the wild west
