Send it back unopened. No-one gives a fug about IWC. At this range go with Rolex or Omega. They are all built like shit - my Omega speedmaster has been losing power at weird times since last service, but what you want is something iconic. IWC have never done that.

This is mine btw. All mechanical watches are inherently worse than a ten dollar quartz, but have had this eight years and I love my family, watch, cat in that order.
The thing with Rolex and Omega is that their most popular models can only be copied. That goes for the watch and the bracelet. You can spot them from across a crowded room, which is what you want - kinship.

After the quartz crisis the swiss watchmakers decided to control the supply of "swiss made" movements to jack up the price 1000x of their movements and only do ultra-luxury (also happened to european apparel brands like loro piano).
Meanwhile Seiko has been making affordable mechanical movements like those in the seiko 5, as well as making movements more advanced than any swiss movement like the spring drive.
Don't fall for the swiss propaganda and don't buy their movements

beware of a serious flaw in your quiz - I do not have idea if your grading the 5 is the best score or the worst? maybe I am just a brainlet, but here in middle europe school grading the 1 is best mark 5 is the worst failing grade. Please indicate the grading system at the beginning of the quiz and consider to scrape the past results, as they seriously might be upside down!
