You can own most weapons here. Even an AR15 or G36. Only limitation is no full auto, semi auto only so they need modification. You also need a reason, hunting, sport shooting and collecting are valid reasons to get a license. Self defense isnt. It takes some work but still easily possible. Sport shooting is quite popular and deeply ingrained in the culture in some areas.
