Lets say minimum wage is $10. If you are paid $20 an hour then you have to be paid $20 for every hour you work, making “double the minimum wage” doesn’t change that you are required by law to be paid the wage that you signed for in your employment contract. Anything less is theft. It’s one thing for them to lower his pay, it’s another to not pay him at all

OP having to sign an additional contract saying he’s OK with not being paid for those hours worked doesn’t change anything either. He is an employee, he legally cannot work hours for free. The contract was signed under duress and is obviously a way to steal wages from OP.
