>signed up to study finance
>realise I'm not even good at excel

Signed up to study finance
No one's good at excel user. We all just fake it until we make it.
speak for yourself assholes
i'm a genius at excel
Pick a different field all finance related jobs will be gone once AI takes over in the next 10-20 years. It's all just simple math with extra steps.
This. Blockchain AI is the future.
I thought I wanted to do finance until I talked to people who do finance
This. Excel competence is transhumanism
This
And I'm in audits
A truer statement has never been uttered till just now.
I'm about to finish my business degree and move on to a masters in finance. Should I be scared bros?
>tfw too retarded to work at McDonalds
not sure any hope for you. i remember my first finance job not knowing excel and having to learn. within two months i was way better than people two positions above me, wouldn't have to touch my mouse in over 10 minute periods, hella fast and productive. head of unit commented on my impressive start and ended up being promoted over pipo who were there a year already and more senior than me when i joined.
>signed up to study mechanical engineering
>never touched a tool in my life
We'll make it OP, just need to work hard.
FPBP
Ok I'm 18 doing finance next year in uni. Fill me in bro
>tfw not retarded enough to work at McDonalds
Master of Finance here.
As long as you know how to Google you are good user.
You can probably even finish university without touching excel a single time, as long as you find homework groups were some excel crack exists who does everything on its own.
Exams are most likely paper based anyways.
Yes, master of finance is way more math related and way less management/bullshitting. When you are decent in math there should be no problem though.
If you start working at investment banking they remove your mouse for the first week. Just so that you learn short-keys in a week. Can really advice it .
Also just learn what functions do, and a little bit VBA will let you become an H4X0R
If you want to join the dark side learn R.
What do you even do with those degrees then?
Accountant?
>tfw you've mastered Excel
easiest way to become the office hero
*sips*
back in my day, we didn't have computers to do math for us! we had to use calculators, the ole-fashioned way.
I'm not good with numbers at all. I've been to various math courses and to this day, I still need to count with my fingers and can't even count in 2's beyond 12.
What the fuck is wrong with me. I achieved top grades in most other subjects, Maths was my lowest. I'm so confused.
The one career/subject that could make me loads money is what I'm a total brainlet in. God is cruel.
I've worked at an office for about a year and the guy next to me used to send me some formulas that did my job in 2 hours.
used to smoke weed before and during work because shit was so boring and unbearable there was absolutely nothing to do but watch movies and drool on my desk.
What Master of Finance and you use excel?
Oh please, I also have Ms.c in Finance and we mostly used Python, R, SAS etc.
>Oh please, I also have Ms.c in Finance and we mostly used Python, R, SAS etc.
why are you pretending to know about the real world when you've already admitted all of your knowledge is academic
true
And after only 4 months of moderate excel use at my job I have literally been getting praise from my bosses for my excel work
