it really depends on where they send you. My brother mostly did computer work during his conscription and most people in his unit had post graduate degrees and shit.
I knew a guy though who was sent to the most remote island in the country and basically everyone in his unit was a sub 85 IQ hillbilly who couldn't count to 10.

I think that's actually good there's a wide variety of different people. Basic training has all kinds of people in the same platoon it builds a social cohesion. Conscription has to go but it has some positive sides too.
