It's not anti-USSR crap, the dystopian society in 1984 is fascist not communist. In fact George Orwell actually fought as a volunteer for the communists in the Spanish Civil War.

Communism is a stateless, classless, moneyless society.

Socialism is a society in which all those things exist but the means of production are collectivized and redistributed.

There has never been, by definition, a communist country in the world at any point in history, largely because communism is unachievable. Stop spreading boomer memes and actually read a book.
