I was actually thinking of getting into IT since tech is the future...my plan is the get the comptia trifecta (A+, NET+, SEC+), work as IT helpdesk for about 1-2 years, then move up to a sys admin position, then hopefully move into IT security...is this a good path?

my job is literally to go into peoples workplaces and replace some task with software. i build what doesnt exist and we get paid so much (40k a job which takes about a week is not abnormal) because the company is then able to fire multiple people. until all the workforce is automated, i will always have a job.

businesses will always exist and always want to save money. doesnt matter what it is, a floor of guys manually filling out tax forms, manual inspections, people taking orders - as long as there are people to fire there will be a market.

im a full time salaried employee (+ commission) at a fortune 500 company. we are way near the top of the list and have all sorts of clearance to work with industries others can't touch. all I do is custom development, i have nothing to do with sales or anything. I just get a contract - sometimes for companies that don't know what they need - and I go and build shit for them. they charge for my services $4-8k a day, usually a $20-30k minimum. I'm booked out till next year already doing several projects a week usually. if its just a bullshit website they want Ill take a buncha modafinil and do it overnight. more advanced they fly me out and I just integrate whatever they need till its done.

It sells like hotcakes because 1 persons salary is more than 30k. I'm almost always going in with the goal to fire X number of people.
